  • May = 31
  • Jun = 30
  • Jul = 31
  • Aug = 31

Wouldn't they have  to remove another player from 40 man to make room for both Palacios and Narvaez?

They were at 39 with the release of Jankowski, and Carella's release puts them at 38, allowing Palacios and Narvaez to be rostered.

Edit: hmm okay I see what you mean

I think the question is where does this count day one.  For example is calling someone up on the 10th count as 2 days on the 11th because they were on the active roster for two distinct days, or are you doing it as 11-10 = 1 and coming up with 1.

If someone were called up on the 10th, then that should be day one and they are the roster for April for 21 days.  When calculating the duration of a period you need to take the difference in end dates and then add one.  So in this case, 30 - 10 + 1 = 21.

For this purpose,  I would imagine this is the correct methodology.  I think you guys are talking past each other here calculating the same thing two different ways.

Getz “well I can’t figure out if it is 171 or 172.  f*** it, call up Narvaez!”
