Ramos and Drury in the Charlotte lineup tonight...Colson leading off, Teel with an extra day off/mental health day.

Facing former Sox/Yankees pitcher Deivi Garcia.

Chris Rodriguez arguably the best Knights' starter so far.

Kyle Teel to IL?

Not on Knights' roster tonight.

Now his name just showed up on bench.

Juan Gonzalez is another backup catcher...no relationship to Rangers' milb pal of Sammy Sosa

Montgomery called out on strikes after starting off 0-2.

Sigh.

Drury starts out with line drive single up the middle.  Bring him up.

Quero single to LF...Knights have lost five consecutive.  6-4 slide to 6-9.

Fletcher had an extended 12 pitch battle but made final out with bases loaded.  Still 0-0.

I don’t like putting Colson in a spot where he thinks he has to work the count

Even managed to jinx Rodriguez. 3-0 Nashville VC Predators over Knights.

Tristan Gray badly slumping...along with DeLoach and Teel.

Quero passed ball but escaped inning.

Colson took two called strikes and also swung through a 92.7 mph center out fb that wasn't even that high in the zone.

Swing The Bat

I'm wondering at what point do you give him a phantom IL trip (or maybe a real one if his back is an issue) to try and clear his head?

In other Montgomery news, Braden went 2-2, 2b, HR, bb, SF. Hitting .353 w/1.033 OPS. He does not seem like he needs to be Lo A.

Wouldn’t Sox rather have Fletcher up than Palacios? Don’t get it.

The only question now is whether they leave him down long enough to get named to the first half All-Star team.

I would guess 6 weeks total if he keeps this up, 8 weeks early June to High A at the latest.

He should be up to W-Salem shortly, IMO

I suppose as long as he's running 100% with no restrictions...and able to competently play CF, at least in A ball, there's no reason not to push/challenge him a bit.

Ideally, they would keep all those guys together like McLain and Wolkow, but it might not be possible.

Why would it be ideal to keep those guys altogether?  Like slow down for a sec and think why that makes any sense?

Look at the Royals' minor leagues before the 2014-15 years.

The core of those WS teams moved up together one level at a time as a group and learned how to win together each step along the way...learned to trust each other, rely on each other...know what to expect in any given situation on the field.

Pretty sure those future Royals won the Carolina League at Wilmington, then moved on together for the most part to Wichita and Omaha and won titles there as well.

White Sox minor league teams just throw these kids together without any plan or strategy or sense of cohesiveness...and then we keep mixing and matching at the big league level but the majority of the teams have been imported via trade, intl free agency and regular free agency and not our minors.

IMO, at least since Ozzie Guillen, there's never been an identifiable "what it means to be a White Sock" vision like the Cardinals have always imprinted on players since their first day in the organization.
