I don't understand the fascination with Palacios. I don't think his presence on this roster, lineup and leadoff spot exposes some deep incompetence in Venable or Getz, but he's not a good defender, and outside of a little pop, has no real offensive upside. Dominic Fletcher could most probably give you more than Palacios does, here. Fletcher is hitting, and is a better fielder. Fletcher also has an option left in case they want to shuttle him back to AAA when Tauchman returns.

Maybe they just want Fletcher to be playing out of his head in order to get back on the 40-man. Seems like an easy way to get just a little more offense and a lot more defense into the lineup.

With this dysfunctional organization why ask why.

Could put Baldwin in right and Workman at short as well

And Fletcher homered again (4), he's OPSing .906.

I'd bring up him and Elko Tuesday and drop Amaya and Palacios. Then probably dump Vaughn once Meidroth is back.

Same here but I'm not holding my breath on Vaughn

I don't think they will dump Vaughn. But now we got a log jam in the infield, when Rojas and Meidroth come back

Rojas does have an option, and he doesn't have 5 full years of service time. They can stow him in AAA while they sort out the roster, too.

I know this team has very little talent, is in no way a good team or anything, and guys like Palacios aren't part of the plan going forward. But the continual losing gets old and winning is more fun than losing

The worst part of not having a closer or really needing one is surrender ing all those late leads.

That just gets to be totally demoralizing.

Especially with most Central teams GL having pretty excellent pens, like all the playoff intra-divisional teams last year.
