We already have a game thread. And there's  a "That's a Sox winner" thread from yesterday that's four pages.  Just examples of how we just WANT and enjoy some wins. We want to be excited; we want

Robert no prayer on that one...playing a bit shallow.

Close and late is interesting:

Pitching: dead last in WHIP (1.75)

Hitting: near the bottom (but never last) in AVG, OBP, SLG, and OPS.  Surprisingly, the offense is 19/30 in runs scored 7th inning and later.  They can score more late than one would think.

If the bullpen gives up 2 or more in a close game, the team will likely lose.  But that's true of a lot of teams.

Right bad enough in all categories for all to have had pretty much an equal hand in being bad but maybe not the worst and when it's all said and done this year.

Brian Anderson tales are more fun.

Or Uribe.

Vargas made a routine play look hard.  Man.  Cannon really shining though.

all of houston's balls have been hard hit in the infield

I think the story was "we was talking about the outfield and then timo perez caught a line drive and uh i'm like damn. i'm sorry i was at the bobby jenks thing and i'm emotional"

and then the inning ended. I mean it's possible he was just randomly asked to go into the broadcast from just chilling and drinking with his bros.

edit: but realistically he was probably hanging out with ozzie.

Rojas not off to a sizzling start at Charlotte...but just get Amaya off the roster.

Addition by subtraction.

I don’t know how much longer they can go with him especially with Elko tearing it up in Charlotte.

I think most of us decided it's past that time and has been for a while.

Bobby Jenks thing?

Right.  That's the thing to keep in mind.  When each piece is lacking, it puts more pressure on the others to be their best (offense, defense, starting pitching, bullpen).   Yesterday, everything was peak.  Tonight, if the game is tied late, the pressure will be on the bullpen to keep it so until the offense can squeak out a run.  If they choke up 3 (like Booser the other night), it'll be an L.

Sosa has had some bad BABIP

he brought up being at a fundraiser involving bobby jenks. but very incoherently

Sosa doesn't really have speed, a high obp, just occasional power and then bad defensively, lower baseball IQ.

Limited fundamentals/execution ability.

Terrible pitch selection/too many wild swings and just plain guess hitting.

No bueno.

Sox don't score a lot of runs in the 3rd through 6th inning.

Part of that is poor lineup bottoms often hitting twice...from Vaughn through 9th.

I can translate Drunk:

He said prior to coming in the booth he had another interview about 30 mins earlier where they brought up Bobby Jenks (presumably about his cancer) and that's why he had "pouty face"

Imagehere's rowand looking dapper last night at the fund raiser he brought up

At least Vargas stepped on third before that pathetic throw.

They don't score a lot on runs from 1st pitch to last.

Lol at Vargas throw attempt.

Just put it in your pocket.

3.52 per game.  25th out of 30 teams.  (fyi)

Elko homered again. He has to be called up soon right?

Cannon is money.  Great performance so far.  Time for some run support!
