Hagen Smith 3 up, 3 down, 2K. Much better command than before. Still looks like there’s reliever risk, but stuff is pretty sick.

We already got burned on Taylor. Hagen needs to find command and stay a SP.

Colson 3-5 single, double, triple. Charlotte is bashing them, so a good night for everyone. I don’t know what to think right now. In all probability he wouldn’t be worse than Noda or Rojas, but that doesn’t mean they should promote him.

Absolutely crazy that his OPS is up to .708. It was .622 three games ago.

Pretty sure they will promote him as soon as he can piece together ~2-3 weeks of above average offensive production.

the one it looks like we got burned on is Schultz. It's alarming.

But taylor needs to start long-term.   Hear from Mason Miller  lately?

Send Schultz to arizona. How can a guy lose so much without being hurt?

These are both crazy. Schultz is fine. It's a new baseball and he's not using his entire repertoire by design. I don't care about the results in Charlotte at all. It is an issue that he didn't get any innings though. That's the priority. He'll finish the year in the majors.

So what is the purpose of him in Charlotte (while Taylor Just bypassed it).

Taylor is on a significant innings limit and they determined that pitching in relief in majors was better long-term than him making 3 inning starts in minors. Schultz will be in the big league rotation in 2026. He needs innings. I don’t know that AAA is necessary but the Sox believe it is.
