Which makes sense, but the point is everyone who thought he was going to be a desired piece at the trade deadline was as wrong as KW, RH, and JR were about Pedro Grifol. It was a stupid trade. One that probably won’t matter anyway, but made little sense.

I'm sure Sox would have been open to flipping Booser, but he's basically a long-term piece with a lot of team control and not much mileage on his arm for his age

I’m pretty sure that flipping Booser was the entire point of acquiring him, but he performed poorly this far.  He walks too many batters.  And team control and low mileage on his arm would be great for him being a long-term piece but unfortunately he’s 33, not 27 or so.
