July 27, 2025Jul 27 Promoted to AAA with a .666 OPS. Seems like the Sox are rushing him to simply let him do or die. I sense a release in his future. Edited July 27, 2025Jul 27 by WhiteSox2023
July 27, 2025Jul 27 He'll probably hit better in Charlotte. With dudes like him they should just push them to Charlotte. I hate how much trash we carry in Charlotte, at least let's carry our homegrown trash.
July 27, 2025Jul 27 I wouldn’t recommend looking at his past 30 day splits. That .666 OPS looks pretty fucking awesome in comparison.

July 28, 2025Jul 28 Montgomery 2.0 up to Double A too. Gonzalez looks OK to me, but worse than anticipated. I was happy the Sox drafted him. Didn't expect a great batting average, but where's the power? His OPS is a different story if he hit homers like he did in college. Maybe he can figure it out. Otherwise his defense looks fine, maybe he competes for second base. Hopefully it's not him and Ramos competing for a spot in Charlotte, still hopeful both guys can be contributors. I feel like there was a stretch where he was hitting pretty well. Maybe it was the month before the last 30 days that you are referencing?

He had a 112 wRC+ from April to June. He fell off a cliff in July. Maybe it was just a bad month and things will turn around, but definitely doesn’t leave me warm and fuzzy on Jacob.

You might be the only one happy about the Gonzales pick. I remember everybody hating the pick if I recall correctly.

Please tell me why you still have hope for Ramos.

It's not like Gonzalez was a reach where he was drafted; the ESPN guy had him ranked #6 or so. His willingness to take underslot is at least part of the reason the Sox drafted him.
