The women in question wasn't in possession of the foul ball and then was shamed for not "handing a kid a baseball". Quite the opposite, the kid was in the possession of the ball and a grown women demanded that the ball be handed over to her. If it was the former scenario, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Can people not see the difference? All I keep reading is “what if something DIFFERENT happened. Then I bet you would have a different opinion” that kids birthday was like 3 days from then. That was his Dad giving him the ball, this isn’t entitlement on anyone’s behalf except that lady

I also said it was too bad she ruined a hugging moment between a father and son to unleash on the guy. I don't like people running from 20 seats away to grab a ball at someone's feet they're bending over to get, themselves. I understand the dynamics of "going for a ball" at a game. Maybe some people, like an older woman, gets startled and angered by strangers reaching between their legs to grab a baseball. And while I have given away baseballs, souvenirs thrown into the stands and a baseball bat to other people, mostly kids, I don't like the cultural brow-beating to "give a kid a ball". It's a stupid and performative guilt trip. Shriffen was going on about this during the Sunday game, and I really wonder why he doesn't spend a couple of innings handing out baseballs to children if it's so important to a child's experience to go home with a free baseball. I don't know why nobody sees this dichotomy. No it is way better to run up on, then put your hands on a stranger with his kid and demand something from him. Harry Chappas
The woman was 100% wrong. Her doxing is based on her appearance and actions and is not going away any time soon. It just went from 4 goons, to "the guy in the eagles jersey". The two guys two rows in front never reached down. The guy who got the ball picked it up on the side of the seat. Even the guy in the Eagles jersey seems to be in the row in front of her, and reaching straight down. If you actually look at it, she is reaching down a row. If this is even accurate, because based on the video that isn't at all clear, her problem was with the guy in the Eagles jersey, because the guy who got the ball reached down by side of the seat, and not "in between her legs". She sure didn't chase him down, so that sure doesn't seem to be the problem here.

I don't like the practice of people running from all over the section to grab a baseball away from a lady (anyone, really) who was bent over, trying to pick it up from in front of her. That all happened. I think the backlash is misogynist. No variables changed there, either. I compared her backlash to another viral incident from last week, which seems to confuse and anger you. One lasted about an hour, the other is going on for another day, now. Still nothing being "changed". 3rd, I'm uncomfortable with social pressure to "give a kid the ball". Still, nobody pretending something different happened. You're the only one changing variables, pretending she was a man. I'll accept your apology in 20's. Bob Sacamano
So basically if a ball is hit towards me and rolls down a few rows, that's my ball? The answer is: nope. Edited September 8 by Bob Sacamano

Your premise sucks, you are projecting misogyny when there is none. The male polish CEO did the same thing and the same thing happened to him, somehow you keep ignoring this. Maybe this is because you are confused and angry? I dunno, you started all this with the idea that maybe kids don’t really deserve a baseball lmao, when did we all start giving a baseball to a kid? maybe I want to keep it? The only apology you will get here, is I am extremely sorry that you don’t get it. Tremendously sorry.

caulfield12
If the equivalent of Sydney Sweeney, Livvy Dunne or Alabama Rush like girls switched places with the skunk haired witch …everyone would be teasing the father for being seduced into giving up the ball. Without the Karen approach and appearance, wouldn’t be hearing nearly so much outcry. It’s pretty cut and dried. 1
