The 22-year-old was an impossible out, as he reached base in 13 of his 17 trips to the batter’s box. Once on base, he put his wheels to good use, stealing five bases. The former Coastal Carolina standout enjoyed a breakout season in 2025, hitting .291/.433/409 with 48 stolen bases across 116 games. Antonacci lacks the impact typical of an everyday regular, but he’s showing a nice combination of plate skills and speed that could soon earn him opportunities in the majors. Completely unheralded and cost the White Sox no more than a 5th round selection. His ceiling might be solid MLB regular? Oh no!! Good organizations should produce guys like that. He's certainly fitting a "type" from the Getz era in terms of making great swing decisions but lacking power. I see it as a possibly-smart approach by Getz to look for players with great approaches at the plate when you're in a situation with no perfect players available. caulfield12 Posted November 6 Share Posted November 6 (edited) Limited power playing 81 home games at GRF isn't necessarily a great idea unless you have 3-4 true sluggers in the lineup. Montgomerys...maybe Teel or Sosa, but that just puts an awful amount of stress on those secondary guys like Meidroth, Baldwin, Quero and Mead. Robert isn't realistcally a part of the long-term plan. That means the 2026 draft has to go exactly right and Carlson needs to be able to at least hit 10-12 homers eventually. If you want to advance in the postseason, you need a fifth or sixth rounder to eventually make an impact like Addison Barger did. HoF 1B might help some, too.
