The same reason River Ryan and Henriquez weren't listed for the Dodgers. Dodgers wouldn't trade them for Adams Thorpe Bush Larson Batista Berroa combined. All prospects are not created equal. Would be kind of funny if the Mets opening day OF is 2/3 of the Sox OF from a 100 loss season though. Edited February 24Feb 24 by Autumn Dreamin
February 27Feb 27 https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/02/dodgers-sign-keynan-middleton-to-minor-league-deal.html Dodgers' rotation running 12 deep There’s no real reason for Snell and the Dodgers to push for him to be ready for Opening Day. The rotation should still be strong even without him in it. Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow and Emmet Sheehan should have four spots locked. Roki Sasaki will likely take the fifth. Guys like River Ryan, Ben Casparius, Justin Wrobleski, Kyle Hurt, Gavin Stone or Landon Knack could step up to make starts, if needed. Edited February 27Feb 27 by caulfield12

The funniest part is that article was written during Monday's 17-9 shellacking of the Cubs at the hands of the Reds. Rolison came into the game in the 3rd with one out, and proceeded to give up: single, single, walk, double, walk, home run. 6 runs. I suppose the heads he's turning are watching balls fly out of the ball park. His spring ERA is 27.00, and his WHIP is 3.50 Edited March 3Mar 3 by WestEddy

March 3Mar 3 Well it's not like Meidroth's tepid results in 2025/26 spring training mattered all that much... Maybe Rolison was working on a specific pitch? He could just suck, or it could be premature Cubs-related arrogance or one upsmanship, who knows.

I guess 7 weeks before pitchers and catchers report, teams are grabbing up every catcher and lefty reliever that comes over the wire. Rolison was DFAed to grab Romo.
