An extremely likeable vet with a pretty lefty swing. Hope he has a nice season for the Mets and he can get some playoff ball.

We got a draft pick as well though

And he's under 26. Weird how those three guys in the under 26 listicle thread didn't mention him.

The same reason River Ryan and Henriquez weren't listed for the Dodgers.

Dodgers wouldn't trade them for Adams Thorpe Bush Larson Batista Berroa combined.

All prospects are not created equal.

Interesting.

More focused on protecting Elder/Wentz on the roster than adding Scherzer Gio Littell.

Rooting for him. Would be kind of funny if the Mets opening day OF is 2/3 of the Sox OF from a 100 loss season though.

If anything he’s a nice placeholder until Benge comes up

Dodgers' rotation running 12 deep

There’s no real reason for Snell and the Dodgers to push for him to be ready for Opening Day. The rotation should still be strong even without him in it. Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow and Emmet Sheehan should have four spots locked. Roki Sasaki will likely take the fifth. Guys like River Ryan, Ben Casparius, Justin Wrobleski, Kyle Hurt, Gavin Stone or Landon Knack could step up to make starts, if needed.

What a strange article.

If DFAing Rolison becomes "one of the most regrettable decisions of the Sox offseason", that would be pretty stellar.

The funniest part is that article was written during Monday's 17-9 shellacking of the Cubs at the hands of the Reds. Rolison came into the game in the 3rd with one out, and proceeded to give up: single, single, walk, double, walk, home run. 6 runs. I suppose the heads he's turning are watching balls fly out of the ball park.

His spring ERA is 27.00, and his WHIP is 3.50

Can't imagine how the Sox pen will survive without that "hidden gem" production!

Well it's not like Meidroth's tepid results in 2025/26 spring training mattered all that much...

Maybe Rolison was working on a specific pitch?

He could just suck, or it could be premature Cubs-related arrogance or one upsmanship, who knows.

three of the four hits, including the HR and lcf double by Hayes, were on curveballs…both poorly located in the zone

velo not as advertised in article, topped out at 95.8 and most were 94-95

other hit in the inning was a 94.6 mph fb

control was the biggest issue, 5 and 6 pitch walks…first hit was an infield single 1B couldn’t handle

Once I click back into the topic listing, I may never think about Ryan Rolison again in my life.

it's possible

you might also never hear of W.Gonzalez again either

such is the life of prospects...85% failure rate

Then I'm guessing the White Sox aren't ruing trying to slip Rolison through waivers.

I was actually hoping that Rolison would pass through waivers and get outrighted. I guess 7 weeks before pitchers and catchers report, teams are grabbing up every catcher and lefty reliever that comes over the wire. Rolison was DFAed to grab Romo.
