Shouldn’t this non-Sox player thread move since the season has started?

It's Sox related. Old Friend Alert, and all.

An extremely likeable vet with a pretty lefty swing. Hope he has a nice season for the Mets and he can get some playoff ball.

As long as the Mets don't ask Robert to speak with anyone they will be fine. Already dreading his Hall Of Fame speech.

How about Michael Soroka with 10 Ks, 1BB, 0 ER in 5 innings plus an immaculate inning?

Charlie Montoyo will most definitely not be there for it.

I've been a fan of Luis since the Sox signed him, but I lost a lot of respect for him after watching that interview. That he doesn't inform the coaching staff and then head to the trainer's room for treatment when his hamstring feels tight is troubling, especially given his history of injuries. He's an elite defensive center fielder, but that he still nearly causes collisions with other outfielders is troubling. That he had to have interpreter Billy Russo tell him bench coach's Charlie Montoyo's name is troubling. I want to like Luis, but this dude is in need of a reality check

And now, he will start his climb towards the Hall of Fame...

Vaughn broke his hamate bone. Targeting mid may return.

The right-hander made one appearance for the Tulsa Drillers, L.A.’s Double-A affiliate, earlier this season. He failed to record an out and walked all three batters he faced.

Sounds about right

I wonder if it's the yips. He always walked about 4 per 9 IP, but something happened, and now he can't throw strikes.

Tristan Gray was going to finally retire if he didn't win a big league job this spring....White Sox didn't give him much of a chance.

https://seattleontap.com/blogs/sports-on-tap-seattle-blog/from-retirement-talk-to-grand-slam-the-tristan-gray-story-nobody-saw-coming%3Fsrsltid%3DAfmBOop189-VxbBDhocLzM8m-mqKdqRWjHvTvsNg01Q-FyWN56SM3iwr&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwiavdb5uuGTAxXiLLkGHRiPBycQFnoECAQQAg&usg=AOvVaw1mRYJGp5VCi9cJjtjAU3jw

Less than two weeks ago, Tristan Gray was having a very different kind of conversation with his wife Madelyn. At 30 years old with just 122 Major League plate appearances under his belt after nine years of professional baseball, retirement wasn't just a thought experiment anymore. It was becoming a real contingency plan. Then everything changed in 24 hours.

The next day, Gray got the call: he'd made the Twins' Opening Day roster. By Friday, he wasn't just in the lineup. He was hitting a grand slam in the home opener against the Rays, capping a seven-run seventh inning and sending Minnesota to a 10-4 win at home.

“I think Hawk(ins) and Grady were the two guys that I targeted right off the bat,” Shelton said in a Zoom Call last November. “I mean, Hawk was a little bit easier because of the fact that he was within the organization. That was a very quick conversation and obviously offered him the job. With Grady, it took a little bit longer, but he is someone that I targeted.

Acton making his big league debut today for Minnesota and scuffling a bit.

Congrats on a win in his debut!!!

4-0 sweep of Detroit, P.Meadows sight be out for at least a couple of weeks with a concussion that could have killed Riley Greene, too.

Acton attended Lemont High School in Lemont, Illinois.[1] He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 35th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign. He attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and played college baseball for the Illinois Fighting Illini. He finished his career at Illinois with a school record 25 career saves.[2]

So it sounds like it's a price thing for Gio, which is better than it being a health thing. But man, I really wonder what he thought he'd get in FA when he turned down that $19m.

Lots of pitching injuries early though, feels like he'll get some incentive-heavy deal eventually.

Not really an old friend, more like the blind date you cancelled the day before, and never looked back

Add the Astros to the teams kicking the tires on Giolito…
