That trade makes no sense. Collins was in the conversation for ROTY until he slumped in September. Mears was better than Zerpa last year. What do the Brewers see in Zerpa that I don't?

Local reporting on trade. Apparently, Collins was a fluke, and Mears lost his swing and miss stuff. Zerpa has an arsenal that appeals to the Brewers. Or so some fans on MLBTR say in the comments.

Mears was a salary dump.

Collins, there were bigtime concerns about his offensive repeatability.

That said, Garrett Mitchell and Perkins are kind of a black hole in terms of run production in CF.
