  • It is stupid to think the Sox have 13 guys who are better than Baldwin.

I’m just going to say it.  If the rotation can surprise a bit (and I can think there is a non zero chance they can), this team will be sniffing at that last playoff spot.

Jacob Gonzalez reminding us how bad that pick was

Breaux will be facing a new pitcher Krook. Nice matchup of names.

One of the Rule 5 guys Alberto in to pitch.

Okay, Alberto in. Sing for your supper, kid.

Tommy White looks svelte. Maybe he can play 3b. He isn’t gonna play first for them.

Alberto’s command is not good enough to pitch in the majors. I can see why they are interested in him, though.

Alberto 3 straight single but no runs yet after getting the 1st 2 outs.

GO gets him out of it.

FB near 99 sinker around 97. Not terrible 1st outing.

A lot of non competitive pitches but no walks at least.

Dru Baker oppo gap double. Jacob Gonzalez single to CF . Nice read on bad throw home and JG takes 2nd. 8-2

Oh, the stuff looks good but it wasn’t just non competitive pitches, he missed in the zone a bunch too. He could have made the 2024 Sox. I think in 2026 the Sox will have higher standards.

Adisyn Coffey pitching now.

He got the K on mostly swings out of the zone too.

Bergolla’s supposed weakness is the arm, but he makes all the plays. Coffey shows you what it looks like.

Coffey slider and change up looking sharp with 2 K and GO 1, 2, 3 inning.

Liked his weird suburban mom name.

Canolli with a nice single. Is our spring squad the 🇮🇹 wbc?

Bergolla casually batting 1.000

White sox making everyone drop shots

Darn. Jacob Gonzalez scorching one into a glove

Winner winner enjoy your dinners !

11-2.

In 2022, the White Sox opened after the lockout was lifted, and won both games of a double, home and away split squad tournament against the Cubs. They lost the next game to the Guardians. I stopped looking for a better spring training start at 2018.

He was already facing an uphill battle when first selected, but with the Dominguez signing and Hicks trade it’s going to be near impossible to roster both him and Paez (whom I think they like more).  I guess injuries could change that, but even then there are other guys who will pushing him for a spot like Gonzalez and Berroa (if healthy).

Sun-Times' recap:

Lenyn Sosa hoping to make White Sox' roster without permanent spot - Chicago Sun-Times

- Lenyn Sosa not worried about his spot, and plans to be more aggressive
- Murakami's schedule
- Vasil & Burke Sunday against the Brewers
- Shane, Seranthony and Grant Taylor against the Rockies on Monday
- Hicks think ABS challenges will help him
- Quickie recap
- Brewers on deck. Logan Harrison starts for the Crew

Sosa saying he wants to be more aggressive and isn’t worried about improving a 3.3% walk rate is , I hope lost in translation/semantics or something.  To me, it is his biggest issue as a hitter.

SouthSideSox recap

White Sox report card is all A’s, 11-2 | South Side Sox

Oakland only started 2 reasonably identifiable major leaguers, which Leigh Allen makes sure we know well by article's end. Generally, the rule of thumb is if White Sox A-ballers are kicking the ball around in an exhibition game, the organization is incompetent and doesn't teach fundamentals. If it's the other team, whaddya want? They're A-ballers!

You don't get to pick who the other team suits up. You play the guys on the field. I'll take it. 2-0.
