FB near 99 sinker around 97. Not terrible 1st outing.

A lot of non competitive pitches but no walks at least.

Oh, the stuff looks good but it wasn’t just non competitive pitches, he missed in the zone a bunch too. He could have made the 2024 Sox. I think in 2026 the Sox will have higher standards.

In 2022, the White Sox opened after the lockout was lifted, and won both games of a double, home and away split squad tournament against the Cubs. They lost the next game to the Guardians. I stopped looking for a better spring training start at 2018.

He was already facing an uphill battle when first selected, but with the Dominguez signing and Hicks trade it’s going to be near impossible to roster both him and Paez (whom I think they like more).  I guess injuries could change that, but even then there are other guys who will pushing him for a spot like Gonzalez and Berroa (if healthy).

Sosa saying he wants to be more aggressive and isn’t worried about improving a 3.3% walk rate is , I hope lost in translation/semantics or something.  To me, it is his biggest issue as a hitter.

SouthSideSox recap

White Sox report card is all A’s, 11-2 | South Side Sox

Oakland only started 2 reasonably identifiable major leaguers, which Leigh Allen makes sure we know well by article's end. Generally, the rule of thumb is if White Sox A-ballers are kicking the ball around in an exhibition game, the organization is incompetent and doesn't teach fundamentals. If it's the other team, whaddya want? They're A-ballers!

You don't get to pick who the other team suits up. You play the guys on the field. I'll take it. 2-0.
