I accept that others seem to recognize him as a top-of-the-game talent for reasons I don't understand. But I have not felt his absence much. I don't like Schriffen much, either. I am annoyed by him, as I was annoyed by Benetti. I hope we get to see a third option.But then, I also really don't care much, as I barely pay attention to the broadcast team. I'm a little puzzled by the strength of some peoples' feelings on this topic, but to each his own, I guess.

Harry Caray also made a huge difference with his Cub Fan Bud Fan schtick along with the Tribune hyping Wrigley Field as the place to be in Chicago while dissing the Sox at every chance they could with other media outlets following suit, things haven’t been the same since.

I assume JR knows what the feeling of the other owners is like and they are dead set on a salary cap even if it means sacrificing a season. And JR is one of the six owners on the committee advising Manfred on labor matters. The subject of the broadcasters also came up. JR said he realizes Schriffen is not a baseball guy.
