I'm a bit worried about his inability to hit pitches on the outer half, but I think he'll adjust. The eye is great, and the power is legit.

Yeah me too. He takes some really awkward swings on them. Appears he’s got all the right intangibles to address it. Even if that’s a weakness he can still be solid.

How much longer will Getz make the fans and the team suffer for his terrible trade?

DFA Acuna. There is no upside for him. He doesn't even carry himself like a major league player. He's a mess.

It’s probably too early for Getz to admit his mistake in the trade by cutting Acuna loose this soon. Mead was probably the guy he cut bait on soonest and that took half a season, offseason, and ST.

Guessing the kid was nervous but if he wants to have any success he's got to be able to control his stuff and not surrender walks.

When he could control it he had good stuff.

We'll see if his next outing is better.

Rays 8, White Sox 5: A rough introduction for Noah Schult...

Noah Schultz took the loss in his MLB debut tonight, but if the first inning is any indication, he wins just by getting it out of the way. Schultz almost didn’t make it out of the first inning, throwi

It’s time for full size players.

How'd Schultzy look? Seems like a rough first inning with walks and maybe some fielding blunders, then not so bad? Stuff look OK? His ERA is still lower than Crochet's!

Murakami's mune shot was naturally off another fastball. Prior to tonight, he's slugging .621 on fastballs, .071 on breaking pitches, .125 on offspeed. That seems fixable when the knock against him was he couldn't hit velocity.

Half the lineup is batting under .200. The rest aren't far above. What does the hitting coach actually do?
