Chicago White Sox (Last: 30)Weakness: OutfieldAs a group, Chicago’s outfielders rank 28th in the league in fWAR (-0.3), with the fifth-lowest slugging percentage (.341). None of the team's three most often-used outfielders—Andrew Benintendi, Luisangel Acuña and Tristan Peters—has been close to league average offensively. The trio has combined for five extra-base hits, and while Benintendi has four of them, he’s also been one of the game’s worst defenders over the last four years.Manager: CWill Venable deserves a lot of credit for the culture he’s established and his rapport with the young players. His in-game decisions, however, have left a lot to be desired this season. There’s very little consistency in the White Sox lineup, which seems more focused on handedness than actual statistics often, and his management of the bullpen has frequently raised questions. Other things like seemingly not knowing the pitcher’s spot was coming up in a winnable game against the Athletics, simply haven’t helped the White Sox win more games this season. I’m not all the way out on Venable yet, and I think he has some good qualities, but I expected more from a manager who was supposedly in tune with the analytics and well-respected around the league at the time of his hire. Venable is just a second-year manager, so he’ll be learning how to do his job alongside his young core, and mistakes are bound to happen. May 13May 13 I stand by my position that a manager's preparation and clubhouse management is vastly more important than his in game decision making, so I reject that C grade entirely. The Renteria to LaRussa experience, exhibit A. Renteria had team ready to compete, like Venable evidently does

May 13May 13 My contribution to the bait thread. I just want to say, even Getz supporters can't claim most of the reasons this team is OK because most of the successes were still guys from the prior regime and they gave him no blame for that, so no credit is owed. Getz still stinks obviously. Banni is awesome, always has been. And this team provides some entertainment for the first time in years. Those are all true. I want nothing more than for WE to dunk on me as a Getz supporter because this team stays in "contention" into August. He'll be wrong on credit Getz, but we'll both be celebrating the outcome. Won't happen since the pitching stinks, but still.

Won't happen since the pitching stinks, but still. The whole argument now basically amounts to Vargas (weight/strength gain and added confidence vs. swing change), Colson AZ fix, Davis Martin suddenly a Top 5 mlb starter (Bannister) and Mune (fell into their laps like Abreu). The next tier is Meidroth, Burke, Antonacci and Peters.Venable role in all this?

Getz is getting all of the credit, none of the blame, and that will continue to be spun once the team falls out of contention, even though he'd rather be wrong and it not happen.

Trying to enjoy the game here and ignore you which is difficult when you directly respond to me. I hope this is clear for you finally
