Sandlin, of course, was fantastic.   He was never in any trouble tonight; Next time, some balls will fall in.  I didn’t realize that his “stuff” was this good (couldn’t tell from the stats). Rely on that stuff and throw strikes.

I didn’t see tonight’s lineup as a B lineup: the big dogs were still there and the lineup benefitted big from some addition by subtraction.

His stuff is straight dirty. So much movement. Add to that topping out at 99. Legitimately has ace stuff. He just needs to throw strikes and he'll be alright.

They have the 4th best OPS and 2nd most HR against LHP this season, people just don't like the names on the lineup card.

Haha welcome to the big leagues. Another guy I’m not sure why they called him up.

Strategy of taking strikes and swinging at balls didn’t work that inning. Seems like our offense is starting to slump. Only have scored on homers this series.

I’m gonna need you to make some similar comments in the first inning of today’s game. Thanks in advance.

That's a helluva track, I had know idea that sound really existed that way at that time. Huh. Learn something new every day.

I agree, chitownsportsfan. I'll admit this is the first time I'd ever heard a Husker Du song. Looks like they formed in 1979 in Minneapolis, and this one was released around 1985?

As I've aged (just turned 73), I've gained greater appreciation for the groups (like this one) that opted to go with just a guitar, a bass, and drums. Something down-to-earth about that-- just keeping things straightforward and staying out of each other's way.

I feel really lucky to have been an adolescent and young adult during the decade spanning approximately 1965-1975, when the music world was just exploding with all kinds of new artists and groups. My favorite was always Chicago, as I idolized their guitar player, Terry Kath. I have three brothers, and, along with three of our high school buddies, we formed a band with a three-piece brass section. Kept it going for ten years, playing mostly high school dances and wedding receptions. We tried our best to emulate that Chicago "rock band with horns" sound.

A little associated trivia: I first found out about the birth of Sam A.'s dad (the latter being my nephew) while our band was rehearsing at our house for the annual "Garden Party Dance" at our church.

Sorry to have wandered off-topic, guys!
