Is soccer replacing all the US major sports (except NFL) in popularity?)

Greg...

Just don't try to meet single ladies in Medellin that you "miraculously discover" from online dating sites and you won't be murdered at least.

In all seriousness...it's a lot more likely you are drugged/robbed because high profile tourism murders are terrible for business. Policia and military with machine guns in most major cities...safer during the daytime than Lawrence US or suburban Johnson County US.

Have you noticed there has been a constant stream of refugees from Venezuela into Colombia at the Cucuta border crossing?...completely reversing the trend from twenty years ago. Surely you haven'the.

Feet don't lie.

Also try to watch "Encanto" sometime...based off Salento, that's just as much the the reality in Quindio between Medellin and Cali, most beautiful place in the world mountains coffee flora fauna perfect weather no need for air conditioning or heater. Rent horses for $20 for the entire afternoon and road wherever you want to go.

Just make sure you can dance drink or play futbol to fit in comfortably there, at least one of the three.

Will ignore the unsurprisingly biased comment about US women being less popular...that has just never been true.

By the way, who has quoted Al Davis one thousand times here?

Just win baby!!!

Hey Durango, my family has a wedding in Colombia in September. Any suggestions of what they should do in their spare time and is it safe there, etc? I think the wedding is in the moutains by Medellin. I was too afraid to attend because of fear of kidnappings. thanx.

I hope they have a great time. Colombia is much safer now than it was in the past. Like most other places in the world, you won't find trouble unless you look for it. Medellin is a relatively modern city and has made strides in its infrastructure after some successful technocratic mayors. I'd only suggest extra vigilance if they plan on partying throughout the night in Medellin. Obviously don't go looking for drugs or follow strange women around, and don't wander off drunk and alone.

The countryside will be beautiful for them. Perfect temperature and the mountains around Medellin hold some of the largest flower farms in the world. I think only second behind the Netherlands. I would highly recommend touring some of the farms if they can, or taking some horseback rides like caulfield mentioned. It is truly gorgeous.

Many people recommend a tour of Guatape and climbing the Guatape rock is a big tourist activity. It is pretty, but I also found it to be a pain in the ass getting up it, especially on a hot day. Should be mindful that it's a taxing hike if anyone has mobility issues.

Lastly, they should gorge themselves on empanadas. They'll salivate the rest of their lives thinking about them ๐Ÿ˜

Cartagena and las islas del Rosario in the Caribbean are also genuinely amazing and affordable as well...only major down side is the heat from 10-330 or so in the daytime.

And there are lots of truly great Beisbol towns in the North where the Renteria brothers, Shakira and Sofia Vergara are originally from...

Thanks for the info; i appreciate it. I just have never wanted to go to south america. I've traveled to most of the states in USA but only London overseas plus Canada of course. I just picture myself like the guys in Hangover One. I could see me getting thrown in a trunk of a car or be missing 3 days and tortured. I feel like I should stay put. KU is playing in Vegas this year so I might go to the tourney even tho vegas is now a ripoff IMO.

Machu Picchu is the most beautiful place in the world IMO.

Never got a chance to do an Amazon River tour or Iguazu Falls, but nothing on the bucket list.
