Doesn't Peoples walk a lot of peoples?

Surprised some are upset about this. You can have success in the minors walking 5 guys per 9 innings but that crap isn’t going to fly in the majors. Not sure what Getz’s obsession is with stocking cat

You named two Hall of Famers and a flash in the pan catcher who couldn’t catch. Not sure how these are remotely apt comparisons for a guy we traded Ben Peoples for.

Chris Getz likes Ben Hartl because he gets on base.

Congrats to Ben Peoples on his MLB debut. 2 scoreless with 2 hits and 1 K. Not an indictment of the trade just noting the guy made it and for whatever reason it didn't seem it was going to happen here.

Probably mostly a roster crunch issue. They obviously liked him to some extent to target him in the Houser trade, but his path to our 26 man roster was going to prove challenging.

our bullpen is our weakness, still don't see how it was crazy him to be close. We have too many lefties in the bullpen, he could have been up pretty easily IMO but just DFA one of them

The problem isn’t the immediate opening of a roster spot…it’s what happens when the seven or eight guys on the 60 day IL come back.

Which to be fair may not be until next season (if they have one...)regarding the pitchers.

You’re correct that some of them won’t require a spot until the offseason, but there are other guys who may need a spot at some in Hagen Smith, Adams, Iriarte, & Pallette that were ahead of Peoples. There is still good reason not to add more pain to the problem.
