3 hours ago3 hr Catcher Andrew Knizer exercised his out clause in his Red Sox deal and is a free agent. Hit .316/.426/.920 at Triple A Worchester.
3 hours ago3 hr How’s his defense?I sure hope the Sox are willing to give others a try behind the dish but I also have a feeling that they will now simply roll out our “trusty duo” of Romo / Quero.
3 hours ago3 hr Just get him. Can't be any worse than what they've had, and neither Romo nor Quero earned any deference.
2 hours ago2 hr Was wondering the same thing. His minor league numbers look really good but it seems like he never had success hitting at the major league level.
2 hours ago2 hr Sox have leverage on waiver claims due to their 2025 record correct? I would assume they are ahead of most teams. I know about the new waiver rules, all claims are irrevocable now
2 hours ago2 hr If the Red Sox thought he was any good, he'd probably be rostered over Jake Rogers one might think.

He's as bad at hitting as Romo with none of the defense/pitch calling. Knizer's numbers are nice, but he couldn't find MLB work with the Rockies or Red Sox. Their backup catchers are as bad or worse than ours. Knizer was in Boston's system before the Adley/Rogers acquisition, he might've gotten the call over Narváez at some point.Worth a shot? I dunno. Probably a reason he's not getting the call though. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by nrockway

Jonah Heim was probably the only other decent catcher out there other than Bart that wouldn’t have cost much in a trade. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by WhiteSox2023
