Got to imagine Leasure gets released. Berroa is a mystery at this point. Junior Perez, Nishida, Acuna, and Ky Bush also seem like fairly easy cuts to me. Gonna be interesting to see if they even need to protect anyone though

Poetic that Pham abd Scriff left so cl9se together

They left on the same plane in adjacent seats and you know Pham was shoving Schriffdawg’s arm off the armrest.

They didn't protect Acuna the entire season just to cut him loose now.

That said, Baldwin does a lot of the same things, except play SS and CF.

I was excited to see Baldwin develop this year before his injury. I thought he really had a chance to do well.

You may quibble with his defense, but Baldwin most assuredly can play both ss and cf. He was bad in the corners for the most part, but playable in cf. I believe Acuna is expendable because I would rather have Tanner Murray.

He likely is expendable, but I don't consider Murray's value superior to Acuna. Acuna has value as a pinch runner and is the best SS on the roster next to Monty. The Sox likely will be adding Bergolla to the 40-Man (assuming he isn't traded). I don't see Murray really sticking around or having a place if you have guys like Baldwin and Bergolla entering the mix.

I'd go with Bergolla over Acuna, as the utility infielder. Better hitter.

Murray sounds like a golfer’s name.

No power for most of his minor league career.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

Missed most of the season, like Bergolla, só will take 3-4 months to get back in a rhythm.

27 1/2 at the start of the season.

Rays would make another mistake like Peters in one off-season?

Murray is extremely good defensively at every position you put him and can actually hit a little bit from the right side. With a lefty heavy line up, Bergolla would struggle to get at bats even if he’s healthy, which is a big if. Acuna simply can’t hit. Sox need another righty on the bench. I think Murray can be that guy. Maybe I’m wrong.

All three will likely prove themselves to be expendable in time — Acuna, Murray, and Bergolla. Not even mediocre.

Big no to Detmers or Rasmussen. Taking the worst of it by a lot.
Perhaps Kirby, as part of a Mariners retool sell-off, can be had on-the-cheap. He had a bad year, but in contrast to, say, Gore, he's actually good.
