Meaux's ERA is a little bit of a concern plus he gave up 5 homers in 8 games and only had 4 K's. Once again Jose's settin PR on fire down there with his stellar winter play.

Wow looks like those numbers give us some reason for signing Santiago. I'm also getting more and more concerned about Andy Gonzalez's (sp) future. He is definitely no longer the number one shortstop prospect in our organization

Hopefully Robet Valido continues to progress nicely this year.

Andy's future is on the MOund

I assume he has a good arm then. If my assumption is correct, what does he throw?

Are the Sox talking about moving Andy to the rotation?

Many Teams looked to draft Andy as a Pitcher.

Well if they do it, I hope they don't wait till he's much older, ala Jason Dellaero.

Santiago may end up being another successful reclamation project, ala Loaiza.

If he helps our bullpen, that's gravy.

As for Valentin, YIKES. If the guy can't hit the pitching that he faced down there, how does that fare for his hitting eye come April? :o

I truly think Valentin will never even sniff .230 this year, unless he's 2 for 4 in the opening game. He's fading faster than the paint on a '75 Chevy in Arizona.

But, on a positive note, he's only costing the Sox $5 million next year. He's quite the bargain.

:chair :bang

Don't worry about Jose valentin. He will be ready come opening day. I wonder why Jose even plays winter ball. I would rather a 35 year old veryday shortstop took a break during the off season. Jose may have just wanted to work on some aspect of the game and hitting wasn't it.

Jose didn't hardly play. When he did he put pressure on himself cause the Team really sucked this year. He'll be fine come spring training. The Season is over for him down here and the last 6-7 games he DHed and played 1st

Also, note AaRow showed some pop in his ABs, and also drew more walks than K's. Average doesn't mean too much for me, but nice to see the power and discipline that AaRow will heopfully maintain on the Southside in 2004.

I like Aaron Rowand too and always have been a supporter. I think this is his year to show us what he has as a CF'er. Jose Valentin will be right up there too.

Jose stunk it up last year too if I remember. Usually I think the players just have a little fun and work on some part of their game.

Yeah, Jose did bad in the Winter League's, then had a great April and then exploded. I wish he wouldn't do Winter ball, so he could have at least 2 good months.

Jose Santiagos numbers look impressive. Looks like a good signing. He should help the bullpen out a lot.

Jose probably has about a dozen girl friends down there. No one can play well at any level with that kind of load.

I bet he gets a TON of girls because of his pornish looking mustache.

i agree. A-Row is gonna have a super year

He works harder and hustles more than anyone on the sox.

Also that Jose Santiago stat really excites me because we need pitching(nothing new) :snr

What were you impressed by on Santiago??? the 21 walks? Santiago Sucks, He's roster Fodder on his way to Charlotte North Carolina.

I see Alexis Rios put up good numbers down there at winter ball. He could play for KC sum time this year in the outfield.

Not unless the Blue Jays trade him to the Royals......

Oops I got those 2 mixed up. I know there's a Rios for both KC and Toronto. Eventually they say Vernon Wells is goin to be moved into a corner outfield spot to make way for Rios in center.
