Some guy just posted on the White Sox ESPN message board that assuming the physicals pass, the Sox are going to trade "Koch and Konerko to Reds for Reitsma and Griffey." One reason why this is not a legit trade: Sean Casey, First baseman for the Reds Another would be Ken Griffey owed a ton a money for a long long time. Griffey and the Reds are stuck with each other unless the Reds want to pay a huge part of the contract, or Griffey has a couple years of his old self. I don't see either happening. striker Posted February 7, 2004 Share Posted February 7, 2004 This is what the rumor was per sportsline.com the griffy/reitsma for koch/konerko is the first part of the blockbuster. then the sox send thomas to the dodgers, the reds send casey to the sox, the dodgers send perez and a prospect to the sox, the sox inturn send that prospect from the dodgers as well as one of their prospects to the reds. also the dodgers send a middle infielder to the reds for mike matthews.
