February 23, 200422 yr Well beat the drum and hold the phone The sun came out today We're born again, there's new grass on the field A-roundin' third and headed for home It's a brown-eyed handsome man Anyone can understand the way I feel Put me in Coach I'm ready to play today Put me in Coach I'm ready to play today Look at me I can be Centerfield Well is spent some time in the Mudville Nine Watchin' it from the bench You know I took some lumps when the Mighty Case struck out So say Hey Willie tell the Cobb And Joe DiMaggio Don't say it ain't so You know the time is now Put me in Coach I'm ready to play today Put me in Coach I'm ready to play today Look at me I can be Centerfield Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, And a brand new pair of shoes You know I think it's time To give this game a ride Just to hit the ball and touch 'em all A moment in the sun It's gone and you can tell that one goodbye Put me in Coach I'm ready to play today Put me in Coach I'm ready to play today Look at me I can be Centerfield
February 23, 200422 yr :finger Now now, Steff - what a boring world we'd live in if EVERYONE liked the same exact things....by the way, how was Roderick The Crooner ( as I saw him referred to in the paper )? Were you one of the thousands sitting on their hands during the crooning session?
February 23, 200422 yr Author Now now, Steff - what a boring world we'd live in if EVERYONE liked the same exact things....by the way, how was Roderick The Crooner ( as I saw him referred to in the paper )? Were you one of the thousands sitting on their hands during the crooning session? All but 30 minutes of the show was awesome. The "crooning" was boring. Listening to music from the '30's was not doin' it for me at all..
February 23, 200422 yr Its my jazz side... sorry That's ok, I'm probably one of the few here who knew who you were talking about.
February 23, 200422 yr That's ok, I'm probably one of the few here who knew who you were talking about. I don't know, there are some awful old timers who post on here... I am surprised that they have ever heard of that "new fangled internet"
February 23, 200422 yr Have to agree with the :puke for Fogerty. I also have to agree that I prefer Miller. But then again I am a 33 year old guy who loves silent films. Take that for what it is worth.
February 23, 200422 yr But then again I am a 33 year old guy who loves silent films. Take that for what it is worth. Nothing wrong with that. Buster Keaton was brilliant.
February 23, 200422 yr Steff, I was expecting Luther Vandross or Barry White, not John Fogerty! LOL Hey, if you like that song, I have a better version that you would like. It is hard to describe, but it has voices/lines from baseball movies mixed in. If you have high speed access and want a copy, email me and I will send it to you. I am not real good with audio/video type stuff, but I do know that Windows Media Player will play it. For some reason, I can't get my MusicMatch Jukebox to play it, but it will work with Windows Media Player.
February 23, 200422 yr Lon Chaney was great. Buster Keaton was brilliant. I prefer Glenn Miller for "In the Mood" Fogerty. I'm lost.
February 23, 200422 yr I had those lyrics in my profile for the longest time this winter, awesome song.
February 23, 200422 yr Author You guys have the dirtiest minds!!! This song gets me in the BASEBALL MOOD... :headshake

February 24, 200422 yr Steff, I was expecting Luther Vandross or Barry White, not John Fogerty! LOL Ah...Luther and Barry. Still play those slow jams till this day. Don't forget Marvin Gaye as well.
February 24, 200422 yr You guys have the dirtiest minds!!! This song gets me in the BASEBALL MOOD... :headshake What? ... BASEBALL MOOD? .... And I just burned a complete CD with nothing but 80 minutes "Centerfield" on it.
February 24, 200422 yr Author What? ... BASEBALL MOOD? .... And I just burned a complete CD with nothing but 80 minutes "Centerfield" on it. Yas.. I think you should make and send me a copy of that....
February 24, 200422 yr You guys have the dirtiest minds!!! This song gets me in the BASEBALL MOOD... :headshake But Steff, when you get in the mood, are you thinking of just getting to second base or rounding all the bases? Barry White can make reading the instruction manual for a desk sound sexy.
