Tennis season starts tomorrow against Iowa Falls. I'm captain of the tennis team this year.....we only have six people...I'm slated to go 4th seed as I've had some horrible intersquad matches. Now, I'm taking the Schoeneweis angle, by claiming I was only working on my serves during those matches, not all of my pitches....er .... strokes.

I'll tell ya guys how I did tomorrow nite. ;)

Wishing you tons of luck!

(When you are done with it, please send it to the Sens; they're gonna need it.)

Toronto and Ottawa right off the bat: how's that for an 82 game season?!?!? It's gonna be particularly rough this year I'm betting....

Sorry, here I go hijacking the thread again...

GAME ON!

Good luck dude on hitting your balls all over the court.

You can throw out the book when these two teams get together . . .

Just take it one point at a time . . .

Keep your head in the moment, don't get too far ahead of yourself . . .

Just do it for your team mates . . .

We do not have to worry about heads because

He's an impact player.

He's a physical player.

He's an explosive player.

He's a tough, hard-nosed player.

He's a scrappy player.

He's an unselfish player.

He's a finesse player.

He's some kind of player. (Mind telling us what kind?)

He can take over a game.

He can flat out play.

He's a proven winner.

He has a passion for the game.

He's a serious student of the game.

He has a great feel for the game.

You can't say enough about him.

He's one of the best in the business.

He's the real deal.

He's legit.

He's in a league of his own.

He's silenced all the critics.

He's silenced all the naysayers.

He's their spark plug.

He's their role player.

He understands his role on this team.

He's the consumate team player.

Remember there is no "I in team.

I was joking with a friend of mine who is a HS coach. Every year he really dislikes cutting players and asked me if I had any suggestions.

I told him to sit the player down and tell him there is no "I" in Team and as a matter of fact there is no "U" either. Now clean out your locker and visit the drama club.

Fortunatly he did not take my advice. :D

:lolhitting That would be great, as long as I wasn't the one getting cut. It would provide a good needed laugh though.

Heads- Ouch. Go get 'em next time! :headbang

We lost 9-0, I lost my singles match 0-10 and doubles 1-10....Apparently, their team is a favorite to get to state, and I got to see why.

0-10 and 1-10?

How are they scoring your matches?

Not the usual 6-0 or 7-5 or 7-6(7-3) methods -

p[lease explain the scoring because I can't figure that out

A High School set/match is to 10 games. Faster for after school competitions.

But do not despair. Just use these:

The final score is the only statistic that matters.

They outplayed us in every phase (facet) of the game.

They wanted it more than we did.

We had our chances but we let them slip away.

We came up a little short.

We don't care about moral victories.

They caught us on an off night.

Turnovers killed us.

They out-hustled us.

They out-muscled us.

They out-coached us.

We got a wake-up call.

We weren't mentally prepared.

We came out flat.

We beat ourselves.

We only have to look in the mirror.

They ate our lunch.

They've had our number all season.

They own us.

This is a bitter pill to swallow.

It's going to be a long plane ride home.

I take full responsibility for this loss.

We didn't get the job done.

My hat's off to them.

I tip my hat to them.

You've got to hand it to them.

Give them all the credit.

The best team won today.

He always has his team ready to play.

We can still hold our heads high.

These guys have nothing to be ashamed of.

They just made the big plays and we didn't.

They stepped up and made the plays.
