Twins Joe Mauer leaves game with sprained knee:

Recommended Posts

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - Minnesota Twins rookie catcher Joe Mauer has a torn meniscus cartilage in his left knee and will be sidelined indefinitely.

Twins general manager Terry Ryan confirmed on Wednesday that Mauer, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 draft, will undergo surgery at a date to be determined.

Now it sounds a little more serious than 3 weeks...

OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

I may hate the twinks with a passion, but I wouldn't wish that kind of injury on anyone.

Damn that is horrible news for twins fans. Joe Mauer is a stud. Luckaly he is only 20 years old so missing one year won't hurt him, but he might not be the same player if the knee is bothersome even with the surgery. Wow...I'm shocked. :o

from the article :"An MRI exam Wednesday morning revealed that Mauer has a torn medial meniscus cartilage in his left knee. It will require arthroscopic surgery and he is expected to miss up to a month."

Ok... That is hard to believe even though it's only arthroscopic surgery but a month? I say atleast 2 until he's ready to play 100% (you know they will take precautions), and just like other injuries, it could ruin his season like Wright's minor injury ruined his last season.
