Parking Help

This is for all of you that take the Ryan home. I know Lot A is the easiest exit, but that lot isn't always open when i get there, don't know why. :huh So my question is, if you can't get into Lot A, which Lot is easier to get out of B or C? I was in lot B today and it took almost an hour to get out of the lot, is lot c any better?

Last time I went I think we parked in C and it wasn't too bad. Took probably 25 minutes or so. But, look for other folks opinions too. Or you can just take the train and be out of there real fast :D

I generally park south of the stadium -- I was in E tonight -- I was back home in less time than it took you to get out of the Park --

There was alot of people there tonight -- there, sadly, usually isn't that many there.

This is why i take the train to the cell, i learned my lesson from last year. I find a parking spot near the train station im getting on, get on the train, and have fun at the park :headbang

Having a hrad time getting out of the parking lots is a good thing. That means we had a good crowd!

that is the correct answer

the almost correct answer is Cheat's, Lot E

Don't live too close to a train station, not an option....

and Lot E? Never considered it, isn't that FARTHER away from the Ryan?

I also have a question. Is there a train that can take me from the south suburbs (Oak Forest, near Orland Park), to the Cell?

park and ride for the train...

hell, I live in Michigan and I still often take the el!

And Lot E is not farther away from the Ryan at all - it feeds out faster -

but why am I telling anyone that?

no one should park in Lot E, it is the worst!

Yes, but since most of the parking is built where the Old comiskey once stood there are more cars and busses trying to get onto exits north of the Cell -- Since there's less parking to the south there's less people trying to exit there.

ah, gotcha, all I know is I'm not stepping foot in Lot B, that f***in' sucked tonight, it's happened before too.

CWS, Metra (specifically Southwest Service) has stations on 143, 153, and 179th streets in Orland Park. What makes no sense about this rail line is that it passes RIGHT BESIDES the Cell but doesn't have a stop there. For me to go to a game (I ride the train to school) I would have to walk from Union Station to the blue line, and then ride the blue line to the transfer point for the red line.

If that isn't stressful enough, the last train leaving Union Station leaves at 8:30pm; which means you're screwed for any game after 6:00 pm. Thinking about going to weekend games? Dont. Metra is not in service on weekends. The only games you could possibly attend riding the train there and back would be a day game within the week.

Yeah! The absolute worst! ;)

There is a great spot on Canal St where you can park for $10. Only a 5 minute walk to the park from there and in a nice neighborhood.

You'll pass by Jimbo's on the way in and out. :drink

I like to park in the 1st lot west of the viaduct on 35th St. That way when the game's over you can hop in and Haul ass. I forget the letter that lot has.

How do you all get home from the park? Myself I haul ass west on 35th then a straight shot west on Archer till I get back to the house (near cicero). Hows bout you guys?

It really depends. Sometimes I'll head down 35th to Wallace and take that to 43rd and then catch the RYan south. Other times (when I tailgate) I have a few drinks or go to Grandstand and wait the rush out and go whichever way I want.

One more question for you guys, to get in Lot E before the game do you still get off on the 35th street exit?

Get off at 35th and go south. Then go right on 37th and you'll come right up to the back entrance, all of the way up against the viaduct.

I don't know, but I read your profile about MVP...do you play online?

can access it from Pershing depending on whether Sox parking folk allow you to get to get to E, otherwise, you end up in the lot just south which is a real tough lot so everyone should still park in lots A, B, and C or take the el - you can always park and ride somewhere

I get free parking and am able to get on I-55 or I-90/94 without the wait. I'd tell you, but then I would have to kill you.

tell me

I'd like to die knowing that!

You have to have the same last name as me. :D

Sorry, I know this is a couple of days old, but I've been busy, and couldn't get to the board. I'm responding to this because for those of you who take the Ryan, or I 55 to the Ryan, a friend of mine told me the greatest spot to park, and I've been going there the last 5 years every game I go to. If you are on the Ryan, getting off at 31st street to Wentworth Ave, keep going south on Wentworth till you go about 1 1/2 blocks South of the cell. You'll see some iron gates on your right. A little old black man will be sitting in a chair directing you into Progressive Baptist Church parking lot. Here are the main keys why this is the best! 1) you are parked about 50 feet from behind the right field wall. "VERY CLOSE" walking distance if it rains. 2) When you leave the lot (on to Wentworth Ave), , they direct you AWAY from the cell. You have to go south ONLY. AWAY FROM ALL THE CONGESTED SLOP!!!! 3) When you go south for 1 BLOCK, you make a left hand turn over the bridge, and then another left, and you are on thr Ryan. No congestion....even on crowded days. As you go on the Ryan...I55 is 1 mile away and your home free! Have to get there REAL EARLY Usually at least 1 1/2 hours before game time on a day when attendance is expected to be good.!The lot holds only about 200 cars, which is why getting there early is important This is definately a lot better than trying to cram your way out of all the other lots! Only glitch.... cannot park there on Sunday games. CHURCH-TIME!!!! Hope this helps! It's been GREAT for me!!!
