I'd thought the Tigers had picked him up as a Rule 5 and he stuck with them for a year. Could be wrong, but if it's the same guy, he is a very quick outfielder who slaps the ball around. A better question is why do we feel we need him? Is Reed moving up in the world. Probably not yet, but maybe this guy will replace him for the AAA squad when he does. Riviera was claimed on waivers by Oakland.
