May 9, 200421 yr I found it pretty interesting to see that he doesn't follow the White Sox. Are they all like that? ...I was pretty disappointed to hear him say that. It's not really hard to follow what they are doing. I mean, he should have a little inside information on players up and down there, so he should follow in those terms. And it's not hard at all to check the paper or the internet to see what their record and stats are. Also, it was a good interview. I was glad to see Boz press Borchard about his struggles. I'm glad I took the time to listen. I'd reccomend everyone else does the same.

May 9, 200421 yr Author I'm really impressed with his maturity. The other thing I caught out of the article was that his back has really been ailing him. I don't know about you guys, but I think a back injury is quite possibly one of the most difficult things for a hitter to deal with. I'd say Back, wrist and legs are all essential for you swing. Hopefully this has been the cause for his funk and I really hope he gets his back healthy and then starts raking the ball.

What if he sees Aaron Rowand hitting .240 or less (hypothetically) and thinks he can do better than that and wants the call up. This could work positively and negatively. He could fire up and work harder or start trying to do too much. From what I've read from KW and others, it seems like he is affected by the pressure. KW didn't want him to read the article in the Sun-Times. He wants him to relax thinking that he is trying to do too much. He should just worry about what he is doing. In his case I think it is good for him to not follow the Sox.

I know he hasn't been doing very well at Charlotte, but like dan said, maybe that would light a fire under his ass to get going. We (well, at least me) all know he can do it, he's just got to concentrate and put it all together. Then again, there's Jeremy Reed who had dominated the minors, so I don't know. What I do know is that Aaron Rowand cannot hit a breaking ball down and away if he swung at it one million times.

I talked to him again today and he hopes to play in the next few days, just precautionary as he's battling a sore back and has been getting treatment lately...Past two days he's been coaching first base...

Thanks Jim, I think you'll enjoy the Jeremy Reed interview as well, which should be posted later today once Jason gets a chance to do so... And I'll be trying to do more interviews as well, I am going to be working closely with Jason and FutureSox to try and do some of other prospects. My question for many of you would be, are there any other prospects you'd like to see interviewed on the site?

May 10, 200421 yr I'd betcha Joey B was thinking 'Coming up behind me' when Anderson and Sweeney were mentioned during the word association. I'm not too fond of that, especially ones where a struggling outfielder has to talk about up and coming ones that could completely destroy his oppurtunity to make the Sox. Oh well. Great stuff anyways!
