Good game tonight and what a difference a night makes. Went to the game for the second straight day and there were no fights and nothing like the way it was on tuesday. I think i shall start to go to more full price days.

Not that I'm complaining but how come they took out Loaiza instead of letting him finish?  I know his pitch count was at 110 after 8.

113 actually, and I wondered the same thing. It wasn't even addressed in Ozzie's post game interview...

I know one stupid inning won't make much of a difference, but the Sox starters are all among the league leaders in innings/pitches thrown this year. After seeing Loaiza tire a bit near the end of last season, and Alewife not having thrown 200 innings in a few years, I was hoping to see Loaiza removed after 6 or 7 innings.

Wouldn't want next year's pitching staff to suffer the same fate a certain NL team is experiencing this season..........

I had absolutely no problem in him being pulled..our bullpen guys need innings too, and it's not like Loaiza was still with a low pitch count. Everyone that wanted him to stay in must have had him on their fantasy team.. (Except whoever it was that benched him.. ;) )

It was addressed, Ozzie said he was about putting the team first instead of personal stats.

Loaiza wanted to finish (per ESPN) why Ozzie ignored that request was not addressed.

There's nothing wrong with a 113 pitch count for an effective starter, from time to time.

He had just struck out 2 in the 8th as well. He was on auto-pilot... would have been nice to see a CG.

I am right there with you. When I realized that we had 4 starters in the top 10 in pitches per outing, it scared the s*** out of me. Loz might be gone after this year, but MB, Scho, and Garland are all staying here. I also am worried about a September fade by guys who are worn out.

I agree.. but it's May.. one night tossing 125 pitches, especially when he wanted to, IMO is not going to effect his arm 5 months from now.
