May 27, 200421 yr dude pitched six scoreless innings against the Phillies last night. he's pitched well in two of his three appearances for the Mets. Art Howe says they're keeping him in the rotation and stretching him out. He's 1-0 with an ERA of 3.24, I think. Another kid with an excellent arm the Sox gave up on too soon.

Wow, that is a quick annointment of giving up on someone too quick. See also Josh Fogg for an example of speaking too soon.
May 27, 200421 yr Against Houston he gave up 8 hits over 5.2 innings. 2 runs, only 1 earned. Against Coloroda, he gave up 7 hits over 5 innings, and 5 earned runs. Hes had 1 good outing against Philly, the outing against Houston could of been a disaster. Also this is the NL. SB
May 27, 200421 yr I think the Sox gave Ginter quite a bit of time. Things just didn't pan out and he needed a change of scenery.
May 27, 200421 yr Author Ginter will have a better MLB career than Timo Perez. The sox haven't had a fifth starter pitch six scoreless innings against ANYBODY in two years. Not Wright. Not Porzio. Not Cotts. Not Diaz. Not Art Kusyner. Not Kirk McCaskill. Not Ray Herbert. Ginter has a good arm. and that was the Phillies, not the devil rays, he pitched against. The Sox relentlessly jerked him around -- starter, closer, set-up man, closer, starter, closer, starter. He'll have a solid career. End of discussion.

May 28, 200421 yr Author The Mets aren't the only team desperate for a fifth starter. Just don't think getting Timo Perez for Ginter was equal value.
May 28, 200421 yr The Mets aren't the only team desperate for a fifth starter. Just don't think getting Timo Perez for Ginter was equal value. Timo Perez had a major league career before he came here. Matt Ginter did not. End of story.
May 28, 200421 yr Timo hasn't done terrible, 250 average, not a good OBP percentage but he's a fourth outfielder, what do you expect? And he hasn't really played very well at any time this season either... Just rag on KW any time you can, eh? :fyou
