June 2, 200421 yr http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...s_cws&fext=.jsp He's likely headed to the DL. He's going back to Chicago to have his knee scoped, if he has knee surgery, let's hope not, but damn... Who do we call up? I hope it's Borchard, but they are saying it's Burke... I hope they give Joe Borchard an actual chance to let him start up here for a week or two, every day, and see what he's made of.
June 2, 200421 yr That would be awesome, with one young stud catcher that doesn't get enough time as it is, lets call up another catcher again. Why would we want to bring up another OF'er, Rowand has been tearing it up. End Sarcasm...
June 2, 200421 yr Rowand is the best player! He has proved himself! He is so consistent he makes Joe Pecci look good in Home Alone 2! Amen! The answer is near us! Note: Sarcasm in affect...
June 2, 200421 yr Karma works like clockwork. Laugh about Prior and Grudz? Thomas and Valentin pull up lame. Make fun of Sosa's sneeze? Maggs's knee is f***ed.
June 2, 200421 yr Does anyone know how exactly mags got hurt? Didn't he just come out of the Texas game inbetween innings?
June 3, 200421 yr Breaking news from the score. They say Maggs has just gone to LA to get his knee checked on. They said Maggs can't run and he has pain in his knee. Apparently the Oakland trainer looked at him and had an "opinon" according to the whitesox trainer so the y decided to ship him off.
June 3, 200421 yr Oh well, s*** happens. Scope it and bring up Joe B. It's Joe time. Yes it is Joe time
June 3, 200421 yr Don't re-sign him either. Not for $80 million on a bum knee. Right on. Not for 80 Millon $
June 3, 200421 yr There is a poster here who has in his sig a list of Cub pitchers who are injured (Prior and Wood), and then those he wants injured next Karma is a b**** I hate idiots who wish for injuries.
June 3, 200421 yr There is a poster here who has in his sig a list of Cub pitchers who are injured (Prior and Wood), and then those he wants injured next Karma is a b**** I hate idiots who wish for injuries. His name is J.Reedfan8, he posted above you in this thread, and nowhere in his sig does it say he is wishing for an injury.
June 3, 200421 yr There is a fan of every team that wishes injuries on another team, therefore karma would always cancel out, because the only way a team could have good karma would be if none of their fans ever wanted bad things to happen to another team. Its just an injury, players get injured. Hopefully he comes back sooner than later, although any significant time he misses will decrease his value on the market. SB
June 3, 200421 yr Score just said Maggs 4-7 weeks they are going to scope him friday. May not be back till after the all star break
June 3, 200421 yr His name is J.Reedfan8, he posted above you in this thread, and nowhere in his sig does it say he is wishing for an injury. Thank you DonkeyKongerko. I was just about to call his guy a :dips*** BTW.. :fthecubs
June 3, 200421 yr I have a feeling we can survive through this little roadblock. As long as Maggs doesn't try to come back too soon the team should be in good shape come August and September.
June 3, 200421 yr I have a feeling we can survive through this little roadblock. As long as Maggs doesn't try to come back too soon the team should be in good shape come August and September. God, I hope your right
June 3, 200421 yr I have a feeling we can survive through this little roadblock. As long as Maggs doesn't try to come back too soon the team should be in good shape come August and September. Ditto. If certain teams can survive without a good offensive threat missing (A's=Chavez, Cubs=Sosa, Phillies=Thome [now back], etc..) than I think we can cope without Maggs and still be in the thick of the race.
June 3, 200421 yr Terrible news. I doubt Borchard will be up. He's got many nagging injuries too, and hasn't played in a while.
June 3, 200421 yr They said on the J Hood show that Maggs might have a degenerative leg. That's the word that George Offman received, anyway.
June 3, 200421 yr Time to Cowboy Up~! (I like that saying, sorry). Anyway, the Sox can weather this storm no problem. They need to come together as a team and not try for the home run every at-bat.
