June 11, 200421 yr Would the argument "is Maggs worth the money" change is Sox attendance was 3,000,000? Why would he suddenly be worth more if we drew more? For the same reason why A-Rod may be "worth" 50 Mill a year to the Yankees and no more than 15 to the Sox - in their present financial state, that is. Take a moment and think about it.
June 11, 200421 yr Tex, I did jump on your Ass, and then he jumped in and called me a dumb ass. he doesn't jump in and we don't have this conversation. I didn't ask him for his opinion nor did I Post to him. Any more issues? My comments to you were of the nature that most people on this board complain that the sox are chep and JR should jsut give away his money for the pleasure of the people on this board. Not the case. My comments to you are tongue and cheek. I know you live out of state. i can put that together, but If I am running a team that brings in 17,000 a game I am not spending either for the sake of the bulls*** people on this board that make it to 7 games a year. Your opinon of frustration is quite valid as I stated earlier. I do not think you need Cleveland to speak on your behalf, nor did I call anyone a Dumbass before Cleveland dropped his bomb. Bomb? That was more like a water balloon. For all your supposed intelligence you sure get flustered easy. If you're gonna let a freekin message board get under your skin then you're the dumbass.
June 11, 200421 yr Bomb? That was more like a water balloon. For all your supposed intelligence you sure get flustered easy. If you're gonna let a freekin message board get under your skin then you're the dumbass. What type of response do you want from me when you continue to call me a dumb ass? Please use that intelligence of yours and provide me an answer.

If you're gonna let a freekin message board get under your skin then you're the dumbass. I know I shouldn't be a part of this but I want to say this. Nuke, you jumped in and called him a dumbass...quick came back and told you what he thought of what you said, whats the further problem? Its not getting under his skin, he just voiced his opinion back at you.

June 11, 200421 yr What type of response do you want from me when you continue to call me a dumb ass? Please use that intelligence of yours and provide me an answer. I call em like I see em, what can I say. Maybe if you didnt make stupid remarks then you wouldn't get called out like that.
June 11, 200421 yr In all seriousness, if Maggs left, it would make a huge blow in my personal fan support of this team. Being only 15, in my era of being a HUGE sox fan (not just casual, about since 2000), I have not seen any huge superstars leave the team. I build such a strong connection to players, and if Maggs or even Frank left, I'd feel such a hole in the team, and I would be very depressed. This may be something I have to get used to, though. I hate it especially when we lose a player for nothing in Free Agency.. Just think in 15 years, Mags, Frank, Paulie, Carlos etc. would all be gone... weird to think about it...
June 11, 200421 yr Just think in 15 years, Mags, Frank, Paulie, Carlos etc. would all be gone... weird to think about it... Dust in the wind my friend. All we are is Dust in the wind.
June 11, 200421 yr I call em like I see em, what can I say. Maybe if you didnt make stupid remarks then you wouldn't get called out like that. it seems your the only one using those type of words. What type of response would you expect from me. Please enlighten me. Your smart, your intelligent, please help me understand your point of view. I am a dumbass I just don't understand what your saying. Please help me understand
June 11, 200421 yr Would the argument "is Maggs worth the money" change is Sox attendance was 3,000,000? Why would he suddenly be worth more if we drew more? Thanks for the comment, Nuke. I appreciate it. They are taking my computer away. They think I am "working" too hard. Yes - because then we could afford to keep Maggs and it wouldn't hamper, or harm, the team...

Your smart, your intelligent, please help me understand your point of view. I am a dumbass I just don't understand what your saying. Please help me understand Go back and read the post that got me to jump into this mess. I've seen some whoppers on these boards before but that was a doozy.
June 11, 200421 yr we should trade maggs, crede & prospects to houston for morgan ensberg, wade miller and brad lidge. the sox will then meet houston in the world series. it's what it is, and it is what it is. MURCEY!!! wow, that is a very interesting trade idea indeed. i doubt the astros would do it though, unless they could sign maggs to a long term deal. i just want to say that i read all of your posts and they are all well thought out and very interesting. have a good day and go SOX!
June 11, 200421 yr well this sure isnt good news, but not much of a surprise either. However, despite this i still wouldnt trade him. We also cant afford to trade Borchard, Reed, Sweeney, or Anderson now. The Marlins only had Pudge for a year and look what they did. So we should keep Magglio to give us a shot now. Unless the Yankees offered Deiner Navarro or the Mets Wright and Kazmir (obviously not happening) we should hang on to him
June 11, 200421 yr In all seriousness, if Maggs left, it would make a huge blow in my personal fan support of this team. The guy is the heart and soul of this team. I can't see us without him next year. Being only 15, in my era of being a HUGE sox fan (not just casual, about since 2000), I have not seen any huge superstars leave the team. Frank will eventually leave. Magglio shouldn't leave. Where is my favorite player then? Mark Buehrle? A guy who pitches once every 5 days? I think not. They better go get someone big if they leave Magglio behind. I build such a strong connection to players, and if Maggs or even Frank left, I'd feel such a hole in the team, and I would be very depressed. My thoughts exactly This may be something I have to get used to, though. Not unless we get someone else I hate it especially when we lose a player for nothing in Free Agency...Draft Choices. Woo hoo.
June 11, 200421 yr Just think in 15 years, Mags, Frank, Paulie, Carlos etc. would all be gone... weird to think about it... Hah, who knows, maybe someone will pull a Phil Neikro, Ricky Henderson, Or Jesse Orosco
June 11, 200421 yr Go back and read the post that got me to jump into this mess. I've seen some whoppers on these boards before but that was a doozy. I am a dumbass, Please tell me, please explain. I am a dumbass. You seem to use that term alot. You know me from my psots, you have seen my threads. You must really think I am a dumbass, But I don't understand because you are smarter than me. I already explained myself to TEX without calling him a dumbass. You persoanlly attacked me, you called me a dumbass. You must know me as someone who cannot comprehaend, so please tell me and explain to me why I am a dumbass.

Wait - am I missing something - did you just quote yourself and say to yourself that "I find all of your posts well thought out and interesting"?

Unless the Yankees offered Deiner Navarro or the Mets Wright and Kazmir (obviously not happening) we should hang on to him It's like I said before, if he wants more than 15 mil a season then he's just not worth it. I'm changing my tune on this considerably because I just think that having one player tie down that much cash on a low budget operation like this is not worth it.

I never said I was smarter than you although by dragging this out you're not doing yourself any favors. Way to put words in my mouth. -Telling a guy he needs to go get season tix when he lives in Texas is a stupid comment, nuff said. but If I am running a team that brings in 17,000 a game I am not spending either for the sake of the bulls*** people on this board that make it to 7 games a year. So tell me, how many games does one have to attend before they are no longer "bulls***" in your eyes? Making broad and inflammatory generalizations about fans who dont live in Chicago is pretty stupid in my eyes but maybe with your level of education you're just catching something that my lesser educated self overlooked.
