June 13, 200421 yr With Brooks coming in, you knew there would be a lot of changes. I kinda figured a mascot would be one of them.
June 13, 200421 yr whatever boosts ticket sales I guess... Exactly. Hey, that's his job. Like any other PR/Promotions person, your job is to sell your product. If a mascot is part of waht it takes to bring in 25,000-30,000 every night during the summer, bring it on!
June 13, 200421 yr a mascot can increase ticket sales by 7-12 thousand over the course of a season maybe. Even that I have a hard time believing
June 13, 200421 yr Athomeboy, I agree with ya. A mascot is a good idea, espcially with the Sox trying to improve the fudementials area for the kids. Sox need to "recruit" the kids so they can become White Sox fans for a long time. Mascott is a good idea. Agreed. I have no problem with it. If the mascot keeps anyone away from the games, I question if they really were a fan. The edition of a mascot can only help the team.
June 13, 200421 yr Southpaw has arrived! Southpaw, the White Sox mascot, has arrived at U.S. Cellular Field in search of FUNdamental baseball skills, fireworks and lots of run support. He enjoys playing baseball and having fun with all White Sox fans, especially the kids, and he loves to get out in the community to make new friends. Southpaw graduated from White Sox Academy University, where he did lots of homework on health and fitness and sharing his love of baseball with fans of all ages. i can't wait to get my pic with him...

June 13, 200421 yr You guys should be happy we now have Southpaw. Look on the bright side... I bet we never have to worry about him turning down a big contract and leaving via Free Agency.

June 13, 200421 yr Southpaw is awesome! I can't believe some of you don't want a mascot... heck, whenever I think of the Phillies, I think of that goofy mascot they have.
June 13, 200421 yr One pic... two words Ribbie. Rhoobarb. Bring em back.. Over on the other thread, I commented that Southpaw looked like a cat hairball.
