Sox vs. Cubs 6/9/00 on ESPN Classic

Featured Replies

Don't know if it's already been posted but the Interleague game between the Cubs and Sox from 2000 is gonna be on at 2 CT/12 PST Today.

It includes that MOSTER shot Frank hits off of Lieber, and of course a White Sox Winner in 14 innings I believe...

Nice....Thanks for informing us Cali. I'll be checking it out.

That was a great game. Ray Durham won it in the 14th, and I saw the best chick fight I have ever seen.

LOL, was this the game Daniel Garibay got into the game for the Cubs and lost it?

Ha the park's gotten rid of A LOT of blue in the past 4 years.

Ray Durham with the outstanding 6-3 DP. :headbang

Haha that was awesome. DJ has changed too; he's so quiet right in this game.

That must have been outstanding, since Durham was a 2B (4).

I was just about to say something to that tune.

Haha the vintage "HE'S GONE!!" from Hawk versus the present-day "HE GAWN!"

Oops, I knew that, I just wrote the wrong thing.

Maggs with an rbi triple, 1-0 Sox.

That game was awesome, people went nuts whenm Ray hit that double

thanks for the heads up on the broadcast!

I just reviewed my scorecard and newspaper clippings and other stuff from that game - there was a special jacket for the diamond view and I was amazed at all the clippings I kept of that game -

I remember it well - two of my buddies left after sam-me's homer but my best friend and I stayed for the entire game of course and then we hung around the park for as long as we did, soaking up the joy, and then we joined the continuing party in the parking lots until we finally had to leave - that was perhaps the best post game celebration ever

I was wearing my best vintage jersey and somehow a spot of ketshup got on it - I got to my "when the Sox play in Chicago" home in Glenview about 3 am and my hostess hearing someone enter her house at 3 am came downstairs to see what was going oin and she was nude - forgot to put her gown on (it was a hot night weather wise) and anyway about 3:30 am we got the stain out of the jersey and I still get grief about that  "if you wear that jersey again keep it clean or get here before 11 pm, damn it!"

this was the game that "the Milkman delivers" thing really took hold - wait til the 14th and you'll see

I forgot PK used to wear the high socks

Just got home and turned it on!

There’s an ESPN Classic?

Thanks for posting this. This is very nestalgic. Ray Durham, Greg Norton, Bill Simas, Kip Wells, Sean Lowe, Mark Johnson, and a Keith Foulke blown save to boot. Ahhh the 2000 White Sox, how I miss you guys. How I cried when they lost. :crying

I know, It's cool getting to see that 2000 Sox team again. I can't believe that it's been 4 years since that awesome season; it just doesn't seem that long ago to me.

Don't worry! These boys are just like the 2000 team just a little weaker. Plus we don't have Baldwin!!!

So instead of being swept in the 1st round as the #1 seed in the AL, we'll be swept in the 1st round as the #3 seed in the AL?
