Kobe Bryant

Featured Replies

I read this in the Tribune...

"On the first day of free agency, the Bulls unexpectedly contacted representatives of Kobe Bryant."

Wow, if we got Kobe, that would be awesome

He said that he wants to go to a team in which he will be the leader, and with the roster the Bulls have he might consider

It won't happen

Nope, won't happen.

Can't blame the Bulls for sticking their toe in the water, though.

Read in the Tribune that the Bulls could only offer him like $5 mill a year with their cap space.

Not sure how it works.

They'd have to do a sign-and-trade, and I don't see who the Lakers would want on the Bulls who makes enough money to make the trade happen.

It's a good PR move, though, to at least make it look like the Bulls want big-name guys.

Kobe's an amazing player, but he's a rapist. He'd help our team A TON, but he won't be coming here.

But it would be a hell of a signing

Kobe will probably be playing for Colorado State Penitentiary (sp?) next season.

I assume he'll get alley ooped on many a times. :bang

kobe will find new meaning for the terms

pick and roll

slam dunk

lane violation

back door play

double teaming

bangin the boards

beating the buzzer

just a little "tongue - in - cheeck" humor

:P :booty

No way he would ever play for Jordan's old team. He couldn't take the pressure.

If he did come, it wouldn't be because the Bulls could offer the best package, unless of course the Lakers want to rebuild for a few years.

However, the reason I could see the Lakers doing it with the Bulls is that they deal him out of conference to a team they may think won't be able to compete. They aren't going to want to put a competitor over teh top in a deal, however, a team thats down and nowhere they may not thikn Kobe would be able to win it all.

Still, I don't think Kobe is going anywhere. He'll be a Laker (90% sure or a Clipper 5% sure). Which means their is 5% he goes elsewhere.

If I am the team that signs this guy, i put a clause in his contract. THis can take the form of one or two differant ways (i dont know the rules fo the CBA)...

1) A clause that makes his contract null and void if he is sent to jail

2) His first year i slocked in, but the remaining years are a club option. Meaning, if he is put n jail, the club can just drop him after his first "season" witht he team. BUT, if he does not go to jail, the team can pick up the option on the remaining years of his contract.

They'd have to do a sign-and-trade,

I wonder who the BUlls would have to give up in return. A CHicago paper did an article on who the Bulls would have to give up just to match Shaqs contract. It was like 7 players for one. SO, if the BUlls DID do a sign and trade for Kobe, it would be the block buster or all block busters. We are talkin at LEAST Chandler, Captin Kirk, Crawford, Gordon, JYD, and Davis.

I don't want any part of, Kobe. To me he's one of those guys you would rather lose without than win with. He's seflish, spoiled, and arrogant. Not to mention he got a 9 time world champion coach fired. Now he's about to get the most dominant center of the last 30 years or so traded. Most of his teamates can't stand him. Not that we had a chance anyway. But i'm against it either way.

I would forever cease to be a Bulls fan if they brought that scumbag here. I'm sure I would not be alone either.

You got that right. I'd rather suck ass for another 10 years then have that overrated cancer on our team.
