DABearSoX
just purchased a black white sox authentic jersey from Ebay...no name or number on the back.....14.50 plus shipping and handling....i mean please what a deal
BlizzardOfOzzie
EXACTLY Besides - you can just get a jersey off of eBay with no name and number and Grandstand can customize it for you. Not sure what they charge. Remember - the Sox use double-tackle-twill lettering and numbering, which means two layers/colors of cloth. I want to get Ordonez on my vest jersey, but I ain't taking no chances until they sign him to a long-term deal.
SoxFan562004
The good thing about baseball jerseys is that they are easy to clean. I have a Kelly Wunsh (SP?.... I know, I know, I have the jersey I should know how to spell his name, but it's the end of the work day and my brain stopped) game worn jersey I got from Soxfest a few years ago and as long as you don't let a stain sit there forever it comes out perfect. Don't forget the teams only get a few jersey's a year and they're always clean, they're made for heavy duty wear
BlizzardOfOzzie
Well, I'm not sure what you mean by the jerseys are easy to clean, but NEVER, EVER throw your jersey into the washing machine or the dryer for God's sake. Authentic and replica jerseys that have any tackle-twill (sewn-on) numbers or letters should be dry-cleaned ONLY. If you throw those in the washing machine and God forbid the dryer, the emblems, numbers, and nameplates/letters will become wrinkled and all f***ed up. Sure, you could iron them flat, but why even monkey around with all that crap? I just dry-clean my jerseys once a year, unless they get beer or food spilled on them. I mean - come on. As long as you wear a shirt underneath your jersey, there's really no reason to wash them that often. That's the shirt that can get all sweaty - NOT the jersey! aboz56
I've got the red 83 throwback authentic with Buehrle, a rare commodity that you will hardly find anyone with...
BlizzardOfOzzie
Wow - that is rare and very kickass! I'm not sure what name/number I'd like to get on my 1983 road jersey. I'm thinking of Baines, Luzinsky, or Guillen. I'm in no rush. As for my 2001 home vest jersey - I'd like to get Ordonez, but I'm waiting to see what the hell happens with him. Guillen wasn't there in 1983. Try Baines, Pudge, Kitty, or Greg Walker
juanuribe
If you want THE ULTIMATE source for Sox jerseys, check out Triple Threat Sports. These guys are always at SoxFest and do great work on jerseys, just jerseys, that's the only downside. Someone was going to drop $179 on a jersey @ Grandstand? My buddy just bought a black Shingo for $145 out the door at Triple Threat, and he ordered a white Garcia for only $125. These are the AUTHENTIC Majestic jerseys, with the CORRECT lettering, not some generic POS. I think they sell replicas too, but none of my friends or me mess with replicas. I'm new here, but I hope to be around awhile, just like my guy Uribe. Later....#5 PS. They have the Majestic throwbacks, too, any name/number a buck and a quarter. SuperSteve
In MVP, I always wear the alternate black jerseys. I guess Lance Johnson has an effect on me. Me too. I wish I could wear the black jersey with white pants for home games too. I voted for the grey jersey, I dunno why. I just like it best.
