What idiot wrote this article?

Featured Replies

This is from ESPN.com's trade analysis:

Everett, 33, initially figures to play right field until Magglio Ordonez fully recovers from a knee injury, then likely will become Chicago's full-time center fielder, like he was in the second half of 2003. But Everett has yet to play center in 2004 and was limited to just 39 games in Montreal by a right shoulder contusion and a sprained left ankle. He batted just .252/.319/.378 with two homers and 14 RBIs in 39 games. At this point, the switch-hitting Everett is a bigger threat from the right side. He has good power and a decent eye at the plate, though he's no longer the basestealing threat he was earlier in his career. He doesn't cover as much ground in the outfield as he used to either, though that's not as big an issue for a center fielder at U.S. Cellular Park as it would be elsewhere. His throwing arm is solid. In 1,135 career games, Everett has batted .277/.349/.475 with 163 homers, 651 RBIs and 101 steals.

2 big mistakes here.

1. Why would Everett become out full time centerfielder with Rowand playing well out there?

2. It's US Cellular Field, not Park, idiot. :fyou

I wish people would do their damn research before they spray out info about the White Sox. It's like they could careless about them.

2. It's US Cellular Field, not Part, idiot.  :fyou

it's Park not Part...

God would you all f***ing realize the stupidity of the article. I feel like I'm in elementary school being criticized because I failed a spelling test.

Is someone a little testy? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :bang

Well usually when you fry an article for inaccuracies, the least you could do it be accurate. That is why that is funny to me.

It's ironic! Don't you think?

Can we change the name to...

What idiot wrote this thread?

:lolhitting

Fine, be pricks. I don't care.

Jim Callis, the main guy behind Baseball America, is hardly an idiot.

Therefore, you=OWNED.

um..............

Fine, be pricks. I don't care.

It seems like you do....

 :crying

If they moved Everett into CF I think that we'd need to start the fire Ozzie thread early.

I mean there is no way that Rowand deserves to be but on the bench for someone who should be the full time DH.

Jim Callis wrote that. I found it stupid too. Didn't do his homework.

Didn't do his homework.

I'll say

It's US Cellular Field, not Park, idiot.

I didnt know we had school in the summer... :huh

Jumping on Jim Callis over this is completely asinine. We're talking about one of the main guys behind Baseball America, the best baseball scouting publication on the market, hands down. If this is the best thing you can find to complain about, perhaps you should consider getting a life.

Maybe he should do more research before evaluating the white sox like that.

Yeah, cmon people...people make mistakes. Everyone always jumps all over SC or BBTN or anything they can find if they mispronounce one thing or screw up a stat. This happens to teams all over baseball if you listen/read closely, not just the Sox.

Edit: After rereading the original post, 2 more things

1. He said LIKELY...LIKELY...LIKELY become the CF. Who the hell knows. That's an opinion. No amount of research (unless you know Ozzie) would get you that answer.

2. Park/Field, who gives a s***. It's a bogus name anyway, my 'pride' isn't hurt because he misnamed the corporate field.

Carry on

Maybe he should do more research before evaluating the white sox like that.

Maybe you should publish something in a credible publication before criticizing one of the best baseball publications and one of its writers, ever think of that?

I admit he was off base on this, but seriously, Jim Callis is known for his expertise and just because he thinks Jurassic is better right handed at this point (maybe because of his surgery, even though the stats don't reflect it) and he called our "Field" a "park" doesn't justify calling him an "idiot." Grow up.

"U.S. Cellular Park"

"U.S. Cellular Park"

WHO CARES

"U.S. Cellular Park"

It's still Cominsky Park, I'll even accept Sox Park, US Cellular Field sucks as a name.

um..............

That is what I was wondering about. If that is true, it is a surprise to me, but then again, it seems to me that in my mind all switch hitters are better from the left side, except maybe BWilliams/Posada. Anyone else, possibly Beltran? Anyone ever hear of switch hitter giving up the left side of the plate?
