July 25, 200421 yr A guy I always liked and who may be available, although he is signed through next year is Dmitri Young. He can play a few positions, none very well, and can hit. I think he has played LF, RF, 3B, and 1B.

I think he has played LF, RF, 3B, and 1B. Yup, he plays all over. 1B seems his main position. He has played 3B (was an AS last year there IIRC, granted they sucked bad.), LF, RF, and DH.

Juan doesn't wanna be a full time DH and playing the field hurts him The guy has always been hugely self-centered, and people don't like that. The last line of your statement about wanting to play the field dispite the fact that it hurts him, saids it all. If he is will to keep playing the field dispite the fact that he ends up on the DL because of it, means he hurts his teams for his own personal feelings.
July 26, 200421 yr I don't think the need for another bat is nearly as important as getting another pitcher. With the pitching staffs we will face from here on out, we should have no problems scoring runs until Frank/Maggs gets back. However, I am not too confident about the abilities of Schoeneweis or Loaiza at this point. Captain Home Run and his sidekick, Sir Base on Balls, scare the crap out of me. And let's not forget we have a 3-man bullpen right now as well. Cotts can't get through an inning without walking 2 people, Jackson needs to be cut--fast, and Jon Adkins is on a 2 inning per month pitch count or something. We need another starter, or a long reliever much more than another hitter.
