August 1, 200421 yr When was the last time this guy started 2 for 2? Keep it going and that BA will jump up.
August 1, 200421 yr But ozzietheairdale said he is completely worthless, so I guess that's that. Damn and I had so much hope for him rolleyeyes.gif
August 1, 200421 yr Author I think he just needed a change of teams. He looks like he's having fun right now. But who could have fun in this losing streak?
August 1, 200421 yr I was reading something about him. He was hitting over .300 at the all star break last year, and fell apart. This guy has ability. He usually is a far superior hitter right handed, but has hit both his White Sox homeruns from the left side. I think Sandy needs to retire. Maybe Ben will get some more playing time, and start living up to some expectations.
August 1, 200421 yr From what Roons and Farm were saying, it sounds like he is really buying into the Greg Walker hitting philosophy.

August 1, 200421 yr Author Sandy is going to be a great coach someday, I have no doubt about that. As far as Ben Davis, I've noticed whenever I watch he's pretty strikeout prone. Not a Joe Borchard strikeout prone, but he takes a seat pretty often though.

Maybe Ben will get some more playing time, and start living up to some expectations. Ben Davis has a slow bat, but he is strong. If he wants to get back over .250, he is going to have to shorten and level his swing as much as possible and make a living hitting up the middle and the other way, only turning on get-me-over fastball on hitter's counts and hanging breaking balls. Sounds easier said than done, but guys like him (read: at least half ML'ers) simply cannot surivive as pull-hitters. It's up to him to make the adjustment(s).
August 1, 200421 yr Once davis goes 0-10 again someone is gonna make a thread b****ing about him that he should be in single a.
August 1, 200421 yr Author Once davis goes 0-10 again someone is gonna make a thread b****ing about him that he should be in single a. Haha, so true.
August 1, 200421 yr Once davis goes 0-10 again someone is gonna make a thread b****ing about him that he should be in single a. So? Every player must produce if this team is to make playoffs.
August 1, 200421 yr So? Every player must produce if this team is to make playoffs. Did i say that we don't need him to produce? I am just saying people are to wishy washy .
August 1, 200421 yr Author Just because he'd go 0-10 doesn't mean he should be in the minors. He was just saying that people here will get on him if he goes 0-10.

August 1, 200421 yr Author Haha ok, I'll let you explain what you said, you don't need me since it looks like I was wrong.
August 1, 200421 yr Did i say that we don't need him to produce? I am just saying people are to wishy washy . Reality changes, and minds change with it.
August 1, 200421 yr Ben Davis looks like a still has loads of potential. He's definitly in physical shape. If Walker can work on his swing then Davis will probably be a decent hitter.

If Walker can work on his swing then Davis will probably be a decent hitter. i always like davis from way back. i wondered what happen to him. it doesn't hurt to give him a try. we need lady luck to give us some now, we been hijinx (sp) for a long time.
August 1, 200421 yr Ben Davis looks like a still has loads of potential. He's definitly in physical shape. If Walker can work on his swing then Davis will probably be a decent hitter. There has to be potential there. They guy was a first round pick. Hopefully this change of scenery will help him realize that potential
August 1, 200421 yr Author I think the change of scenery is what Davis needed. He got to basically start over here and had no pressure to produce.
August 1, 200421 yr If and when Sandy retires as a player, I hope he's still in a White Sox uniform as a coach. That’s what I’ve been saying. Alomar has been an All-Star, but now he’s nothing but an easy out. He should stick around with the White Sox organization though.
August 1, 200421 yr His home run turned out to be the difference in this game. This guy is hitting over .300 since the All-Star break. You've got to respect the work he's done to get back on track offensively.
