August 31, 200421 yr his homer is only #2 on the top 10... except they've shown it 3-4 times now i didn't realize NOBODY was at the Cell today
August 31, 200421 yr So ESPN was leading up to Joe's bomb with the longest HRs of the year and then cut quick to Joe's and barely get it in... What about Adam Dunn's interstate bomb a few weeks ago?
August 31, 200421 yr What about Adam Dunn's interstate bomb a few weeks ago? I turned it on as they showed the one before Dunn, Dunn's and Bond's from Sunday night @ Turner... then they cut to today and the ball is already coming off of Joe's bat
August 31, 200421 yr From a whitesox.com article A 12-year-old fan from Chicago emerged with the baseball, dropping his 'Icee' to catch the carom off the back wall. After the game, the young fan traded the 504-foot home run ball for a Borchard autographed baseball. That dude got ripped so bad
August 31, 200421 yr From a whitesox.com article That dude got ripped so bad That kid is not so intelligent. Home run balls are rare and 504 foot home run balls just don't happen.
August 31, 200421 yr That kid is not so intelligent. Home run balls are rare and 504 home run balls just don't happen. I would have asked for a customized authentic team jersey signed by all the players plus some autographed baseballs
August 31, 200421 yr I would have asked for a customized authentic team jersey signed by all the players plus some autographed baseballs I agree, it's not like they don't have jerseys laying all over the place.
August 31, 200421 yr I agree, it's not like they don't have jerseys laying all over the place. Well his Joe Borchard autograph might just be worth a whole 5 cents some day
August 31, 200421 yr I would have asked for a customized authentic team jersey signed by all the players plus some autographed baseballs Or season tickets for next year in the "Scout Seats", if the team wouldn't do it, I'm sure Borchard could afford it with his contract/signing bonus
August 31, 200421 yr A 12-year-old fan from Chicago emerged with the baseball, dropping his 'Icee' to catch the carom off the back wall. After the game, the young fan traded the 504-foot home run ball for a Borchard autographed baseball. Beastly?
August 31, 200421 yr That kid is not so intelligent. Home run balls are rare and 504 foot home run balls just don't happen. I'm sure Joe Borchard home run balls will be worth a fortune in the future
August 31, 200421 yr You said: 240 OBP 260 Slug Mediocre glove (CF) Non-factor on the pads. 26yo 504-foot dinger What a resume. --It's official, in one year this board has gotten sooo cynical. I'm close to out. Not that anybody cares but geez the guy has so few at bats and you don't get behind a blast like that?? Geez.

August 31, 200421 yr I'm sure Joe Borchard home run balls will be worth a fortune in the future Right now, I could trade a Joe Borchard ball for a bag of potato chips. Oh what a steal I'd be gettin.
August 31, 200421 yr Yeah, cuz there will be so few of them. I am having visions of an Indiana Jones-type heist involving one of such "relics" centuries from now...
August 31, 200421 yr Right now, I could trade a Joe Borchard ball for a bag of potato chips. Oh what a steal I'd be gettin. Ripple, Sour Cream and Onion or those Kettle Chips?
August 31, 200421 yr Right now, I could trade a Joe Borchard ball for a bag of potato chips. Oh what a steal I'd be gettin. But if it was a Jeremy Reed home run ball.......
August 31, 200421 yr Ripple, Sour Cream and Onion or those Kettle Chips? more like what brand. Doritos, Fritos, Pringles, Lays, Jays, Kitchen Cooked??? God i'm gettin hungry
August 31, 200421 yr Ok. Borchard hit a 500+ foot bomb. Great. It was still just a 2 run homer. That in itself is no big deal. I'm just glad to hear he's been hitting the ball hard with more regularity.
