September 15, 200421 yr why the f*** doesn't borchard play against righties? Ozzie must have rode this to school.
September 15, 200421 yr Lineups. Willie sits against RHP. Hmm... As I stated in my blog yesterday, If I was Willie Harris, I would be very concerned about my job for next season. I love seing a guy with an OBP <.300 leading off. :rolly>
September 15, 200421 yr Author why the f*** doesn't borchard play against righties? Because Timo at least gives him an option. He has no options at all against LHP, if he did Joe wouldn't play against them either. Who should Ozzie put out there tonight, Everett? Even if he wasn't hurt again?

September 16, 200421 yr let borchard play so we can see what he can do Doubt he is with the sox next year. Might as well try to get something this off-season if possible. I mean it won't help him to be a fourth or fifth outfielder with us.

September 16, 200421 yr Ozzie has proven over and over this year that he has no clue what the hell he's doing. Hey Oz, the season is over, playing the youngsters!!!
September 16, 200421 yr Chat room open tonight. http://www.whitesoxcentral.com/chat.html EDIT: Tmar, if you read this reenter the room. f***er.
September 16, 200421 yr Flash, if you read this reenter the room. all you other people enter the room too
September 16, 200421 yr The best way to showcase Borchard is to sit him. I think the Sox already know what Borchard can do. He was quoted in the paper yesterday, still talking about the 505 foot hr. He said it was a "tremendous glimpse" of his abilities. Of course we've got the enormous panorama of strikeouts too.

September 16, 200421 yr After he was asked about it... he didn't bring it up. I imagined -- but isn't it a little presumptuous for anyone hitting like Borchard to be using the word "tremendous" when referring to themselves? I was surprised that he didn't dismiss it entirely when it came up.

With his atheltic gifts, the guy should believe he has a "tremendous" potential. The last thing i want to see is a player bad mouth himself like Willie did earlier in the year.

I just think there's a way to be a bit more humble without being negative. I also have probably a dimmer view of his potential than you, so it strikes me as stranger.

Don't get me wrong, I don't see him making it that big. He seems to be thinking way too much. But you can't deny the kids athletic ability, strength, and heart. he hustles every play, and is an incredible student of the game. I honestly think if he could hone his athleticism he could be the best player on this team, bar none. But I just don't see it happening unfortunately.
September 16, 200421 yr They like timo waaaaaayyyyy to much. What's not to like? The lack of OBP? The lack of power? The lack of ability to play a significant defensive position? Oh, his batting average with runners in scoring position. Yes, and if we had 9 Timo Perezs, we'd never have anyone in scoring position. But he's a grinder. He's going to grind the Sox into fourth place next year if he starts every day in RF.

I'm so sick of the love fest for Timo right now. Hawk praises him like he's Ted Williams. I really hope that KW isn't considering starting Timo in RF next year. Timo is a fine pinch hitter, but he should NEVER start on a regular basis in the majors.
September 16, 200421 yr joe may suck at the dish, but at least he makes up for it with his stellar defense.
