Great Night for Ex-Sox Pitchers

Featured Replies

Flash gives up the tying moon shot and Loiza gives up the game winner.

I thought E-lo looked good for a couple innings. Too bad.

Its only a matter of time before the Ex-White Sox factor gets launched.

Loaiza did look very 2003ish out there yesterday. Throwing the cutter on the inner half of the plate, Throwing more four seam fastballs...he looked better out there than i expected

But then he lost the game

Oh well, big papi is a tough out

You just knew, no matter how good Loaiza pitched for a while, he was going to lose.

Well, I think once Loaiza is in the game for them, the well must be dry. They're thinking must have been, we'll leave him out there no matter what, it's not a do or die game for us. He threw well, was that the only hit he gave up?

He was lights out for a couple innings. Looked very, very good. Then got into a little trouble. Nothing big, just a couple hits. As a starter giving up a run every 3 or 4 innings is awesome. As a reliever in an extra inning game, pitching the bottom of the innings, one run is one run too many.

I still cannot get use to him with the Yankee facial hair.

That is exactly what I was thinking. There was nothing to be ashamed of last night for ELo.

Esteban looked GREAT, and got out of a couple jams, but you knew he was only going to hold on for so many innings. It made me ALMOST pull for the Yanks for a fleeting moment.

We could take that over for a day and show them how a real fan board works

I had the same feeling. What a great night of baseball.

I don't think that's their main one. Son of Sam Horns or something like that is the Red Sox main fan board.

I thought ELO did a great job.

In fact I wouldn't mind inking up a nice minor league contract for him. Light a fire under his butt and have him beat out Grilli.

Another factor to ELo looking good was the fact that they were gunning his fastball at 94mph again.

If he's got his velocity back, then the cutter is more effective again and he can get guys out more consistently.

He looked real good - can't say the same for Gordon. That looked like the "Trash Garbage" version of Tom Gordon.

ELo surprised me with his outting, he did look solid. My first thought when he came in was this game is over..Red Sox win right here!!

He looked tired to me. As small as that guy is, I think when he works that much it beats him up badly.

Elo's got that 94 mph heater whenever he wants to have it.

On a more positive note

Foulke in the 9th :headbang I remember when he sucked ;)

Edited by Texsox

Foulke's just lucky he doesn't have to face Giambi.

Embree has pitched well too.

:lolhitting

My thoughts exactly.

IMO, Foulke never truly sucked.

The manager just lost faith in him.
