This is ridiculous. Just like the Mets to jump on this.

Minaya will risk Sosa's terrible clubhouse presense, inflated ego, and bloated salary for the possibiliy of a break out season?

Apparently no one shares my vision of a 2005 Cubs team immersed in turmoil and disfunction.

Was he with the Mets before MLB tapped him to be the Ex-pros GM?

I just checked up on it. Minaya was an assistant GM for the Mets before getting the Expos' GM position on 2-12-2002. Man, the Expos treat their management like their players. Work for them for 3 years, then you're off to New York.

I really hope they get sammy and get his lame ass out of town.

Cmon, why would u want sammy to go???

He always gives me a good laugh at cub-sox games at comiskey when he gets booed.

He is terrible and will completely destroy next year's cub team if he remains.

I agree. Sammy is an embarassment to the Cubs, and probably a curse in himself. I have no problem with him staying on the Northside.

Manny laughs at this ridiculous rumor:

BOSTON - (KRT) - Manny Ramirez charged into the Red Sox clubhouse on Saturday wearing a light blue designer trenchcoat and a big smile. His teammates were preparing for a huge victory parade to celebrate the team's first championship in 86 years, and the World Series MVP raised the voltage even higher.

"Hey guys," Ramirez hollered. "Did you hear? I'm traded to the Mets. I haven't even had a chance to enjoy the parade and I'm traded to the Mets."

Ramirez had heard the news coming out of New York that the Mets may make a run at acquiring him this offseason, but he isn't giving it much credence. For the most part, the slugger and his teammates were treating the reports like a joke.

"Cliff Floyd and Manny in the same outfield?" yelled Kevin Millar, who also played with Floyd for the Marlins. "I could be a defensive replacement."

I love the Millar quote.
