November 17, 200421 yr My honest predictions... 1)Shawn Chacon 2)Pokey Reese 3)Charles Johnson Which promptly sends me flying off the KW bandwagon.
November 17, 200421 yr I wouldn't mind Kenny Lofton as he will come pretty much free... However more realisticly I see doing not much of anything. Ohh well...
November 17, 200421 yr If most of these predictions come true... prepare for a very long and painful season....
November 17, 200421 yr 1. Russ Ortiz 2. Shawn Chacon 3. Jermaine Dye :puke :puke For the right price.
November 17, 200421 yr I hope we can get Cliff Floyd or Jeromy Burnitz. And a starter such as Perez too. Anderson will be ready for RF soon though, so theres no point in getting a 16 million dollar RFer for two years.

Anderson will be ready for RF soon though, so theres no point in getting a 16 million dollar RFer for two years. Burnitz may not be all that bad. He'd be in a good lineup and while he whiffs a whole lot he plays hard. Plus he'd provide a left handed bat. I've never been much of a fan, but in this lineup and out of the spotlight in a sense he could do some things.
November 17, 200421 yr I think our off-season aquistions will include... 1. Jason Kendall-> I honestly believe this is something Kenny will pull off 2. Russ f***ing Ortiz-> Kenny is really big on this guy, personally I think this would be an awful move, absoulte garbage 3. Bullpen Help-> I wish I knew who, but I have no idea. Do any of you think Jeff Nelson would be a nice pickup? I love Nelson. 4. Eric Young-> or someone to that end. A platoon player at best. I think that is a very realistic and very "Reinsdorfian" off-season. I also believe either Paulie or CLee will be gone and I'm starting to think that if we bring in a big-name starter, Garland is gone with the wind as well.

He has a limited list of teams he want to play for i believe and if he does not sign with one of them he may retire.

That be a great offseason if the Sox didn't get Ortiz, but instead opted for someone else. I would be a fan of giving Leiter a 1yr 5 mill deal and maybe consider a 3 man booth with him joining DJ and Hawk if he were interested. Leiter has been good in the booth during the postseason, plus I think his leadership would be very valuable on the southside, although he isn't necessarily an innings guy (but the rest of the arms seem to be).

November 17, 200421 yr Who? Floyd, Burnitz or Perez? I was thinking maybe he was talking about Leiter but just didn't say the name. It couldn't be Floyd cause he isn't a free agent. Plus if I recall Floyd is from this area so I'm sure he'd welcome a move to Chicago. Problem is he has serious health issues, although he can play when he's healthy.
November 17, 200421 yr Who? Floyd, Burnitz or Perez? Burnitz, he originally was gonna retire if he did not stay with the rockies.
November 17, 200421 yr What about bringing back Antonio Osuna, seems this guy has been solid wherever he has gone?

I think Leiter is already getting fitted for his pinstripes, that is, unless the Mets get him what he wants. King George will not let that arm leave New York. Sad, but true.
November 17, 200421 yr If we end up trading Konerko hopefully for a good starter, Id say trade for Nick Johnson from the Expos. We still need a left hand bat in the middle of the order. If we dont get a LH bat we still have the same RH dominant offense. Expos might be looking to trade after a couple of this FA signings.
November 17, 200421 yr I love Nelson. I thought I was the only one who wanted him. Love his stuff, regardless of his surgery. I'd still take him. What a redneck. To us.
