If its true, good move by Meyer. It is going to be a tough crowd at either school. You might as well go to the place where you have the best chance to win.

I dunno. Is Zook all that bad? He did OK at Florida, but he wasnt given much of a chance. They demanded a LOT of him and he was never Steve, so he was never going to live up their expectations.

I'm still hoping ND steps up and gets him. I think Meyer would prefer ND. I imagine his wife would rather live in Florida though.

 

And I'm not much of a fan of Zook going to ND. I'd rather have Tyrone.

I felt Florida was a better fit for him. I wouldn't take the ND job at this junction in the road. If Ty was as bad as the University says he was, i.e. recruiting, the cupboard is bare, and if 3 years is the turnaround time, OUCH.

Well Meyer hasn't signed on the dotted line yet, but ND should seriously be looking elsewhere right now...and fast. Seriously, we need to break the bank on this one and not getting Meyer puts us in a HUGE hole.

 

However, you never know. There could be a major darkhorse we're not seeing/is being covered very well. I just don't see ND being THAT stupid in firing Willingham, in the middle of prime recruiting time, without having a surefire big name coming to campus almost immediately.

I sure as hell hope they weren't. I'd assume Butch Davis is the next person they focus their attention on. But ND needs to move quickly and needs to spend money otherwise they are risking a big butcher and this is coming from a person who was for the Whillingham ouster.

The drop off after Meyer is pretty big, and he would be huge for them.

Butch Davis has said he won't accept any coaching job for this upcoming year. But that could of been when he was speculating that the ND job wasn't available.

I agree. I think you could make a case for him being better then Meyer. But anything other then those two could be a huge failure for ND.

 

Nieuheisel is out their but you wouldn't want to get rid of a classy guy like Tyrone for a guy whose last job was tainted in a scandal.

The buzz out of NYC all day long has been that ND was unwilling to change admission standards, and that was the real deal breaker. Aparently at the end of it, ND had decided to up the money, but nothing on the admissions.

Jeff Tedford, but I can't see him leaving Cal for ND. At Cal he gets to recruit a great area, and he gets all the Juco's he wants with Cal's huge juco school system.
