We don't hav any more payroll room to sign a FA SP. It looks more and more everyday that there's a Konerko and Vazquez swap in a RJ deal coming up soon, especially with the Rangers out of the running, as they won't be trading Soriano.

Burnett certainly won't be dealt, with the Fishies losing Pavano. They want to keep that strong rotation.

Thomson is the same story, pretty much for the fact, as they're losing Wright and couldn't take on a salary like Konerko's.

Boom or bust I guess. It depends if he's motivated to work his ass of so he can become an everyday player for us.

He will not have enough playing time to hit 20-30 homeruns unless he gets extremely hot.

Now that he's not playing right field I have a lot more faith in him. I think he'll be a solid backup dh. Plus you never know what happens with Frank.

He was an all-star. It's not like he's total garbage or anything. Strange things happen. Frank, Dye, or Row could all easily miss time so it's good to have a guy like Carl around I guess.

well i guess you can look at it this way last year timo perez was our backup OF... Everett is a helluva lot better then timo ever will be... although i still remember that angels game where timo hit it in the clutch and the marlins game...

You think he is gonna be filling in that much? Just seems like quite a bit for a bench player, but he is making 4 million so i guess it is possible.

yeah funny. we have too many outfielders. timo, dye, rowand, lee, everett, and borchard, armando rios and maybe gload counts. but still 6 of's is way too many. trade one for any other position.
