ISF
And with no pitching, they'll go as far as we did last year.
CanOfCorn
How old is Moyer? He must be pushing 100. Who else do they have? Piniero? Meche? I can't think of anyone else. Yankees West, is what it sounds like.

Chisoxfn
Thats a good move by the Mariners. Much better then giving Sexson the money. They are done making any big name acquisitions, unless of course that guy is Matt Clement or another pitcher. Delgado is talking with both New York teams extensively as well as the Orioles. Call it a hunch but if he sits out for a while, maybe the Angels make a phone call his way.
aboz56
Kinda crazy to me that Beltre only played this great in his contract year, but now that he has the contract, how well will he play? Call me stupid, but I don't see him ever beating the year he had in 2004 again.

Dodger stadium is near the pitchers park the Safeco is. Beltre is a phenomenal player, both offensively and defensively. Its money well spent. Richie Sexson on the other hand...now thats overpaying. He may have had a great year, but I would stop short of calling him a phenomenal player until he proves himself for more than one season. I would argue in his defense that the botched surgery he had out of the country was HORRIBLE. I mean reading some of the things this guy went through with that could realisticaly take a couple of years to fully recover... However, I would tend to agree that signing him to this type of deal seems odd.... Hope the Cubs, Astros and Yankees are opening their checkbook wide... because if Beltre costs this much, how much is Beltran going to run? Agreed, I am so sick of seeing and hearing about how good he is, do it more than once in your FA year.. then we can talk.. Wanne
I think Seattle is nuts for spending that much money on Sexson....they just might have blown 12.5M this year on him. There's a reason the DBacks gave more money to Glaus than to Sexson. Glaus' surgery was on his right shoulder...due to a collision. Sexson's injury is to his lead batting shoulder...and injury that will probably flair up again and again. The DBacks just didn't feel it was worth the risk to give him that kind of money only to see him on the shelf again and that's what their doctors felt would happen. qwerty
i heard they might use sexon in the outfield Only if they would have signed delgado instead of beltre. They were planning on moving sexson to left then. But they do not have the money for delgado so he will be at first.
