Everybody’s eyes are pretty much on Odalis Perez, so what are the chances of the White Sox signing him?

Overpay Kenny, I don’t care, but for once let’s have a solid starting rotation... please. :melt

There is no chance in hell, not a chance in hell.

i have no clue...but with the way everything has gone in this last week...the sox won't sign anyone anybody here has been wanting them to sign. feel about a 2 outta 10 right now.... :headshake

Damn We are negative today! (including me!)

we were so positive 1 week ago.

Im thinking '#$%# no we're not getting Perez!'

yeah, probably a very skewed result for this poll, considering the Clement ordeal, but I'm just in the mindset the Sox aren't adding anything

Ya, f*** Sox fans! Bithchy little bastards.

Prepare yourself for this year's crap shoot project...

Esteban Loaiza was the main one we've had that panned out.

Robert Person, well, you know how he did last year.

We'll sign someone to a minor league deal and KW will jizz in his pants over the "potential" of this individual panning out.

Of course we caught lightning in a bottle with Loaiza and I don't expect it to happen again anytime soon.

What is there to be happy about? I am not really one to b**** alot but it does get old.

I have to say, its worked for the Sox in the past. We've gotten Loaiza, Gordon and Politte through these kinds of deals.

Then again, we did get stuck with Jackson and White through these deals.

There may be things to b**** about, but lets not b**** about things that aren't even close to happening yet, ok?

Perez will sign within a week i think. I think that is pretty close.

I believe Gordon and Politte had major league deals, unlike Loaiza.

I am talking a bottom of the barrel reclamation project that KW will talk up until his elbow blows out down in Tucson.

We already got 'em. He can't hit, he can't field, he can't pitch, he can't steal a base.

He's our mascot of ineptitude.

Com'on Timo! Com'on Timo! Com'on Timo!

Any source at all to confirm this?

Nope, Gordon and Politte were both minor league deals.

You could also look at that as KW is trying to get 8-10 wins out of some guy who has never put it all together, ala ELo and Scho, and he will get it very cheaply too.

Clement might get 15 wins in Boston...might put up an ERA under 4...and will probably start a playoff game, assuming they make it...for $8.5 mill a year. Meanwhile, we can get 8-10 wins from whoever...might put up an ERA under 5...and will not start a playoff game for us, assuming we make it...and he will make between $500K-$1 mill.

Which is the better deal?

Probably not for Perez, but I wouldn't mind Washburn. :)

I said i think so, so no there is not. But can't you just see teams going hard after perez now that clement is signed. Just like once pavano was signed, teams started going hard after clement. It's all a chain reaction.

Nope, Gordon and Politte were both minor league deals.

No, gordon made 1.4 million in 2003 and made 800,000 last year.

It appears the Mets are going to make a push for Perez.

Wow 3 yes's and 22 No's this is kind of lopsided.

Nope, Gordon and Politte were both minor league deals.

I am pretty positive both Politte and Gordon both got guaranteed major league deals.

They were not non-roster Spring Training invitees, which is what both Person and Loaiza were.

You are absolutely correct.
